I remember even less about this one than the one I previously asked for, so be warned!

It's an alt universe fic and the few things I remember are it was Tempus who killed Clark's parents when he was 10 (he popped in and out) and I think Tempus may have assassinated the president? I remember Lois and Clark in a government office solving the "mystery' when the secret service, etc couldn't? Tempus was in one frame of the footage, I think. He stepped through his time window and stepped back in and nobody could figure out who fired the shot.

I don't think it was this fic, Only You, although I'm having a great time rereading it!! I think the assassination was a big part of the story.

What about:

Fugue II

The scene you mentioned where Tempus kills Clark's parents would be in part 2 and it was part of a flashback Clark had while unconscious. Although, there is nothing in these fics where Tempus assassinates the president.

This is exactly my opinion also. But I have to admit being surprised. You original description of what you were looking for sounded so exactly like the scene from "Only You: Reality."

The final 3 parts of the "Only You" series comprise one of my all-time favorite alt-Lois meets alt-Clark stories and I've read that scene several times.

I'm looking forward to finding out what this is if it isn't an "Only You" scene.

Actually, I love these "looking for a fic" threads, because:

1) Sometimes I actually know which fic it is
2) And if I don't, I go and read the fic that other people supply the name of, and it's always excellent!

I always think of these threads as little mini mysteries. I'm delighted if I know the answer - especially now that I'm more out of the loop when it comes to fanfic.
