What character from the series would you not mind seeing turned into a villain? (No Lex Luthors, please.)

I doubt this will change my mind, but I'm curious as to who people would/would not like seeing as a villain.

You mean, a good guy (girl) turning bad?

mmm... Dan? *lol* More reasons to dislike him are just fine by me! wink

Ralph wink

Sorry but I think I wouldn't want either of the major characters being turned into a villain. I *could* imagine Sam Lane but I wouldn't want him to because of Lois.

My poor poor Daniel. No one loves you like I do.

Ralph
LOL that would be funny. Kinda like Victor (of The Prankster) but... not. laugh

I always thought Denzler of Bob and Carol and Lois and Clark was sort of creepy, so I wrote him as the villian in Earl and Juliana and Lois and Clark .

Not sure if I can think of anyone else that I'd *like* to see as a villain, although (and maybe I'm just a masochist for too much angst) I also can't think of anyone I'd loathe to see as the villain. Even Lois or Clark. Not that I *want* to see them do horrible things, exactly, I just think it could be an interesting character study to see the other side of a person we really love. Does that make sense?

You know what could be fun?

Jimmy Olsen: Evil mastermind

This whole time, that affable, eager, sometimes bumbling personality... A facade created to hide his secret machinations.

We know he's a computer and electronics genius. A whiz kid capable of building a media empire with the entire DP as only a small subsidiary. Add in years of subtle, behind the scenes planning, and... who knows? angel-devil

Or, for that matter, Cat Grant, pulling a Mindy Church?

Some interesting possibilities with Sam Lane, as well.

But, if you mean "in character"... That makes things tougher. The ones with the best villain potential were already revealed to be villains. There were good guys and bad guys and not that many people in between except for incidental characters (innocent bystanders, assistants, etc).

Hmm. There was that one ep where Doc Klein had a girlfriend. Young, beautiful genius who (supposedly?) idolized and worshiped him.

Oh, what about Baby Gunderson (Sam Lane's robot girlfriend)? Or is that too cliche?

Is this at all what you meant?

I remember an Alt-U of some sort where Jimmy/James ended up being the evil mastermind. If I remember right, Alt-Lois was snatched from the jaws of death in 1994 and taken to 1997 or something, but I don't remember. He's not revealed until near the end. It worked for me.

I don't know that I could go with L/C or Martha/Jonathan or Perry as bad guys though... Would have to be well written and compelling.

You've pretty much outlined part of the plot of CC Aiken's The Late Great Lois Lane goofy

How about Lois? The one villain Clark can't bear to bring in...<g>

Mom and dad Kent. Clark's not there most of the time, the farm's isolated, who knows what they could be up to. My question is "What were the feds *really* looking for that time in "Green Glow"? Huh,huh??

Baby Gunderson! rotflol I almost choked when I read that. Love it!

Jimmy would have worked perfectly for what I have in mind, but because I love The Late Great Lois Lane so much, I won't go that route. I couldn't tell a tale half as beautifully as CC Aiken.

Thanks for all the input, everyone. I think perhaps I should have asked who you couldn't stand as a villain, as opposed to who you'd like to see as one, but I think I've gotten an idea of opinions.

If you still want to weigh in on this, yes, I am looking for a good guy/gal gone bad.

I've actually been mulling over an AU plot bunny that includes both Sam Lane and Jonathan Kent as members of Bureau 39. I already knew that Sam Lane was a military man in canon, but the army photograph on the Kent's barn wall in GGGoH sparked the idea of having Jonathan enlisted as well.

So what if - - Sam Lane is the believer (and bad guy) and Jonathan is the defector that took the alien baby home to his wife who wanted children more than anything? Of course, then along comes a brilliant investigative journalist named Lois ...

What about Inspector Henderson? I know he didn't show up much in the series, but most fanfictions I've read represent him as the most trustworthy person/ cop in Metropolis.

Ma and Pa Kent as baddies....

well, I don't know if this is true, but as far as I remember, there is never any mention of what it is they grow on the farm....

When I read this thread I had a picture in my head of M&P growing plants that were not so legal... Mary-Jane or Poppies mixed in with the sunflower/corn crops....

Martha is a bit of a hippie after all...

but as for "in character" I never really pictured them as the criminal element...

of course Lana has been done, but what about other friends from Clark's childhood,,,

for some reason, having a small-town yokel like Pete Ross (?) getting mixed up in a major crime org. is not so hard to believe

H.G. Wells. He has a plan to create his version of Utopia, but if you think about it the historical Wells was a socialist and his utopia might be very different to the way of life L&C might prefer. Maybe Tempus is Wells' dupe, used to manoeuvre L&C into situations that will advance Wells' plans.
Posted By: beethoven Re: FFQ: Villains - 05/19/08 08:36 AM
I like it...
Wells in cahoots with Tempus....

I was also thinking that Penny might have had some ulterior motive for seeking our favourite boy in blue for her beau... (4.16)

or

if set any time before the fated finale FAMILY HOUR...
ALICE could be the perfect jealous spouse (either ex- or current spouse) and then seek revenge by blowing up the planet... between S3 and 4
or
she could blow up the planet as a ruse to get/keep Perry home if they have not yet separated...
huh huh
think about it
it works perfectly
even better than my cannabis scenario

Dang, I was going to mention Alice.

I'd go for Dan or Mayson. In an AU, anything is possible.

Zara, Ching or Trey would work too.

or even more bizzare, a Good Tempus hunting down a bad H.G. Wells!!!

Me, too!

But, going for suggestions: There are Rachel Harris or at least Lana Lang. I even thought of pairing Lana with Lex in some instance.

I also love the idea of an Evil Alice.

I'm actually writing a story that pairs Lana and Lex together, but for love triangle purposes. wink

cool
am happy you all liked my evil-Alice idea...

the angry/deserted spouse is just so believable, for any story...

me thinks I am spending too much time with my extended family... while my aunt is now going through a really messy divorce... but in our case it is the husband who is the lunatic (and I mean Crazy with a capital K-lol)

huh grovel begging my family's forgiveness... but I have tried soo hard to keep myself anon on these boards that I hope they will never know (and pray)

Pete Ross was taken, wasn't he? In that fic where alt-Clark returns with Lois to the town where he was seduced/molested by the coaches wife? (Not that you couldn't have Pete Ross as a villain again.)

Bernie Klein was taken in that crossover with Dr. Who, but there really are endless variations on the mad scientist theme.

The idea of the Kents growing wacky tabacky cracks me up, as does the idea of Ralph being a criminal mastermind. He could be in cahoots with Nunc.

I know I've read something with Ralph as being in cahoots with...someone. Actually, I know I've re-read that fic again recently. I just can't remember which one it was frown I've been re-reading a lot of fics again lately, so they've all gotten a little jumbled in my mind.

Thanks again for the input, everyone! I was afraid the villain I had in mind would not be well-received, but I've not heard anything too awful here, so I'm going to stick with my original plan. Um...once I get the motivation to write again, that is. Plus, now that I've read some of the thoughts in this thread, I've gotten a lot of good ideas for other fics.

ETA: The Bad Ralph story I was thinking of was Tank Wilson's A Future Restored
