I saw the images at the archive and understand they are in reference to awards won, but when did the ceremony take place? Who voted for it? Why were the awards created?

There were a lot of discussions surrounding the awards if you search Fanfic Related under keyword 'Merriweathers'. It seems like they died out? Or at least they stopped posting any announcements here...
