I had thought this was one of Chris Carr's, but it seems not, so now it's bugging me whose story it was.

It was a vignette written from Jimmy's pov, his musing on the news he had just had that a retired Perry White had just died.

It was posted a few years back now.

Anyone know which story this is and who wrote it?

Might be "Of A Dying Breed", although I'm not sure I'd really call it a deathfic.

Thanks, Nan, but, no, it wasn't that one. The one I'm thinking of had Jimmy just that day having heard the news that Perry had died and the vignette contains his thoughts on his loss and remembrances of Perry and his career/friendship/etc.

At first I thought you meant Chris Mulder's A Life Well Spent, but that's a tribute to Jimmy's death, not Perry's. Sorry. smile

"A Love So Long in the Making" by Wendy

Jimmy marries one of Lois and Clarks daughters and they are out of the country. No one knows where they are.

Sorry for taking so long to come back in here - got wiped out with a flu/chest infection bug and then forgot it was here! blush

Got excited for a bit as ALWS rang some bells and if it was by Chris Mulder that might have explained why I had the idea at one point that this was one of Krissie's. But, no, unfortunately. It wasn't that one.

Excellent example of the genre though and another favourite in my collection. Well worth reading.

And, no, it's not one of Wendy's, Suez, sorry.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I'm beginning to think I've made this one up though as I can't find a trace of it anywhere. Ah well...if it exists it'll turn up eventually, I guess.
