I'm currently working on finishing my latest fic, but I've come across a little problem.

I want to use a song about freedom. The only song that comes to my mind is George Michael's song Freedom. It has also been covered by Robbie Williams. But I have no idea if that song is even known or really famous in the US.

So I was hoping you guys could help. Any other suggestions are VERY welcome too.

Songs about freedom? Lemme see:

1. Born Free
"Born Free, as free as the wind blows..."

2. (I can't think of the title)
"And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free..."

3. (Gospel song, I can't think of the title)
"Free at last, Free at last, I thank God I'm free at last..."

These help? smile

One of my favourite songs about freedom is Something Inside So Strong . The lyrics are inspiring and the melody beautiful.

The higher you build your barriers,
The taller I become
The further you take my rights away,
The faster I will run
You can deny me
You can decide to turn your face away
No matter cause

Something inside so strong
I know that I can make it
Though you're doing me wrong, so wrong
You thought that my pride was going
There's something inside so strong
Something inside so strong

The more you refuse to hear my voice
The louder I will sing
You're hiding behind the walls of Jericho
Your lies will come tumbling
Deny my place in time
You squander wealth that's mine
My light will shine
So brightly it will blind you cause there is

Something Inside So Strong...etc

Brothers and sisters
When they insist we're just not good enough
When we know better
Just look them in the eyes and say
We're gonna do it anyway
We're gonna do it any way
We're gonna do it anyway
We're gonna do it anyway

something inside so strong
something inside so strong
something inside so strong
something inside so strong

I really love the song "You can still be Free" by Savage Garden.

Cool breeze and autumn leaves
Slow motion daylight
A lone pair of watchful eyes
Oversee the living
Feel the presence all around
A tortured soul
A wound unhealing
No regrets or promises
The past is gone
But you can still be free
If time will set you free

Time now to spread your wings
To take to flight
The life endeavour
Aim for the burning sun
You're trapped inside
But you can still be free
If time will set you free
But it's a long long way to go

Keep moving way up high
You see the light
It shines forever
Sail through the crimson skies
The purest light
The light that sets you free
If time will set you free

Sail through the wind and rain tonight
You're free to fly tonight
And you can still be free
If time will set you free
And going higher than mountain tops
And going high the wind don't stop
And go high
Free to fly tonight
Free to fly tonight

There are a few SG songs which have something to do with freedom - Crash and Burn, The Animal Song, Fly to the Moon....I also happen to think that the Celine Dion song 'Mislead' implies freedom, but maybe this is just my opinion. wink

If you want the lyrics to any of these songs, mail me - superstudent@eircom.net - and I'll send them to you smile )

That's "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood and it's been a very popular song here for the last two years...

I'm not so sure that it would relate so much to Lois and Clark, but there is "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I love this song, mostly the chorus because it's so powerful.
