Just as a note, I've written several poems, and more than a few of them are on the darker side. Some of them are from my past, some are not.

Depression

Darkness surrounds me and pulls me in.
It gives me comfort, a safe haven.
The effects are very calming on the soul,
The sensation of falling into my black hole.

Sadness overwhelms me and weighs me down.
It wraps me tight in it’s black, heavy gown.
It keeps me down, stuck in my bed.
Barely alive, almost dead.

What a great high - to be depressed.
When it’s gone, it’s surely missed.
Maybe one day it will be back again.
And maybe I’ll let it pull me in.
