Happy 2021 everyone!

This Kerth season we will be including a total of fourteen challenges to hopefully stir up some fun inspiration for fics as we count down to the 2021 Kerths.

Each challenge will be posted on Saturday. Your response can be either PG / NFIC rated just be sure to include the Challenge # when responding.

If you have a challenge you'd like to add to the mix just send an email to kcom@kerthawards.com and we'll add it to the weekly postings.

All submissions must be posted in the Fanfic / Nfanfic forum to be counted as a Kerth Challenge response.

Kerth Challenge #1: Is This Romantic?

Write a romantic story for Lois and Clark set in an unromantic place. For example, a truck stop bathroom or an old woman’s knick-knack-filled living room.

Write an origin story for Clark where rather than being a reporter he finds his niche as a secret agent.

Well, I didn't forget. But the story fragment that was still sitting on my hard drive and needed just a little rewriting, turned out to be written in German. And translation is going rather slow these days.

Mine was "10 Minutes Ago" from R&H Cinderella. It was pretty much handed to me on a plate, since the lyrics boil down to "I met you and fell in love, and now we're flying!" Full lyrics are linked in the Fdk page.

Kerth Challenge #7: Love Declaration

Choose a love declaration from a movie or T.V. show and have Lois or Clark use it in their admission for how they feel about one another. The more out there the better!

Pick a disaster from 2020 that Lois and Clark are forced to live through and possibly cover. How does it affect them?

• An unknown virus attacks the globe

Kerth Challenge #14: Mxyzptlk

Mxyzptlk grants a character a wish with a twist. What’s the wish and how does it go wrong?

Hmmm... The character that first leapt to my mind was Tempus. I would *love* to have him and Mxy interacting. I'll have to think on this... (Has anyone already written any fanfic with the two of them together? If so, I really want to read it.)

What a wonderful prompt.
