So I just saw this clip:

And it occurred to me: You know what we need around here? More World's Finest fic. laugh Face-offs, Team-ups, Face-offs with team-ups...How about some Gotham City Action? cool

I agree! (Which is why I'm enjoying the Wonder of Love on the forums right now!) I think the best are team-ups with a little rivalry... hmmm... I have a fic stirring in my brain all the sudden... what if Bruce Wayne met Lois about the time she meets (or would have met) Luthor, and gets swept off her feet? How would Clark handle *that*?!

I've put him into a couple of stories - Nine Lives , which is an L&C / Highlander / crossover that's in the archives here, and The Return , which isn't here because it's a DC movieverse / NCIS / West Wing / Bones crossover based on Superman Returns / Supergirl / Batman Begins, not Lois and Clark.

The trouble is that he really does seem to take over stories. In one of these stories he only appears in one scene, but the fact of his existence and possible interest distorts everyone's perception of events.

There are ones where you have other members of the bat family. Such as The Bodyguard with Dick Grayson.

Having Oracle feed some info to Lois and/or Clark could make for a interesting story or even have Lois team up with the Birds of Prey. Having Lois be one of Barbara's operatives at the start of the show so she has a secret she is keeping from Clark might be fun.

Three of the best episodes of "Superman the Animated Series" is the trilogy when the Joker and Batman come to Metropolis. Lois does meet Bruce Wayne and they fall in love, but she doesn't like Batman. She's still enamored of Superman but not Clark. The superheroes discover one another's secret identities and discuss their own fascination with Lois. Clark gives them space.
She discover's Bruce is Batman and decides to break up with him because she isn't ready to deal with his dual identity. Bruce graciously steps out of the picture.

One of the best Superman-Batman fics I've read lately (and one of the funniest) was "And Then The Heroes Came Along" by Roga.

I don't want to give it away. Read it. You won't be sorry.

Iolanthe, thanks for the recommendation. That was hilarious! rotflol

This does not nullify the challenge, though. We still need more Bats/LnC fic! Everyone, chop chop! wink

A thing that's also quite likely is that computer whiz Jimmy Olsen works with (or for) Oracle, maybe as one of her (online) helpers or informants. wink Adding Lois as one of Oracle's agents would be funny, though. This way, three people at the Planet would have something to hide.

Cute. After reading the MacGyver bit, I kept waiting for Bats or Sups to say Woolsey was really a hologram....

One of the bits I laughed out loud on:

"Are you thinking in italics right now?" Rodney whispered.
"You bet, buddy," John said, feeling like a little kid.
Sorry to hijack the thread!

I love the scene when the meet in costime for the first time although they've already met as Clark & Bruce and Superman "x-rays" Batman's mask. He's shocked to find Bruce's face and gasps. Batman just says, "You peeked."

Great moment!! thumbsup

I'm very late getting into this thread, but someone needs to mention some of the older Batman crossovers on the Archive:
  • Barb's Variations on a Theme trilogy
  • SkipD's Luthor's Legacy. It has a prequel, Brothers, but with no Batman
  • My own Lois and Clark and Silver and Bruce

All good (well, I'll let you make up your own mind about my story, but I can recommend the others).

FWIW, I can also recommend Cat-Tales, which I love, but the author is a bit stereotypical Bat-fan in her attitude to Superman, and it should be remembered that CT is based on the comics and not on L&C.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned LaraMoon ! She's made an art out of writing Superman/Batman stories (including one that's been nominated for a Kerth this year Different Directions ). She has an entire series (all very short and very fun stories) called "Clark Kent is Batman…NOT!" Start with A Sister Would Know and work forward from there. thumbsup
