I know this is LnC, but are there any stories that are basically what "Smallville" was supposed to be - Clark dealing with adolescence and the onset of powers and how he learns to control them. And this Cark should be age/size appropriate (not like Tom Welling who is 10 years older than what he's playing)so that he can grow into "our" Clark/Superman.

In order to have it not just be Clark, Martha and Jonathan, maybe Clark could be unconscious and M&J tell Lois stories while they wait for him to recover, or maybe Lois is pregnant and wants to know what to expect, but not a throw away comment like he didn't fly until he was 18.

There should be a whole part about when/how the first flight came about and how long it took him to get it under control, and how he practiced....

Check out Margaret Brignell's series. She wrote a couple of stories of Clark's earlier years. She then wrote the Only You series which was the earlier years for the alt-Clark. Many of them were nominated for Kerths--and I believe she even won a couple for those stories.

Very good stories.
