You got me with that one, and I normally catch on to these kinda tricks pretty quickly! Very well done <g>

PJ
ROFL at the title, Pam! goofy

Great idea, very funny, brilliant execution! thumbsup

Wendy (making mental note to avoid any salon called Wild Style in future... eek )

Claude would like it!
Oh. My. Gosh. evil at the end. ROTFL. rotflol

Great stuff.
LOL, and someone was calling me evil earlier today. That last line was pure evilness! I like how Tank had a say in her cut, and the battle of the hair. Great! smile1
Wow! You totally surpised me with that last line! I think Lois would have definately looked interesting with spikey, purple hair.
- Alicia
rotflol Kaethel! This is hilarious. Somehow I think Lois wouldn't look that bad with spiky hair.

You decide!!!
lol at the title, kae, and another lol at the comments folder title, pam!

great story, but wow... i never saw that last line coming. [Linked Image]

watch out, EviL, you've got competition...

Paul
I saw the last line coming, but was ROTFLMAO anyway!

Brilliant, funny, and of course, evil!

Irene
Kaethel, I have to admit that this fic was extremely clever, and EXTREMELY evil.

I will cop to being fooled like most of the gentle readers, though I do remember thinking that Cat wasn't around during the time that Lois and Clark were becoming an item. I guess I was just too excited to see where this was going to notice.

Even though Lois didn't go 'all the way' to the short styles, I have to say that I would be satisfied if a waist-length haired Lois got chopped to the season one style. In fact I'd be happy if Teri would lose the mess she's currently wearing to go back to that.

BTW: I'm afraid that while I do have many streaks in my beard, they are, unfortunately, all grey.

Tank the Unretired (who, in capitulation, will now go and post his own answer to this challenge fic as a show of good faith)
Oh, Bravo, Bravo! I was completely and totally caught by this one, LOL! Never saw it coming at all. Like Tank, I noticed the Cat reference, but just chalked it off to a phone call or a change in continuity.

Very nicely done. I'm still laughing!

Kathy (who thinks that both the title of the story and Pam's comments folder name have next time's Alt-Kerths all sewn up, LOL!)
ROTFL, Kaethel! Poor Lois - what an ordeal! You did a marvellous job of giving the impression that she'd much rather be...well doing just about anything, even covering the Dog Show laugh - than enduring that salon.

And, yup, you blindsided me totally with that denouement - just collapsed in a heap laughing fit to burst when I read it. clap
Okay okay, Kaethel is EVIL incarnate!!!

I didn't see the last line coming until it jumped up and bit me in the tush...

But oh yeah, I really enjoyed the rest smile

Melisma (played for a fool, here under her Rock)
rotflol

Loriel (who thinks it meets all of Tank's conditions! laugh )
YAY Kaethel!

That was done beautifully! You are awesome

I had to do a double check when I read
about "her boyfriend, Cla-" Took me a few seconds to realize that almost no one else would think 'Claude'. Even I thought 'Clark' first and I knew what timeline we were in!

Very ingeneous! thumbsup

I loved the talking amongst the hairdressers...it was so realisic. They are always talking to each other about the styles that they are doing and such...

Poor Lois feeling like she didn't have a say!

Again, great job!

-Breanna
Totally caught me off guard!!!

You are totally evil

Like the rest, the Cat ref just smoked on by the single synapse that was reading...

James
Kaethel

WOW! This is brilliant. smile1

Tricia cool
I agree with the others
brilliant, funny and evil
merry
ROFL! Okay, I admit that I caught on right away. I knew from the second she said "Cla-" that we were talking about Claude here. And because I know how evil Kaethel is, I figured out that she'd circumvented Tank's challenge by having her cut her hair to the length we saw in the pilot. She's just too smart for her own good. <G>

But knowing what I did didn't take away any of the enjoyment of the story. In fact, I think I liked it even more, knowing this was a younger Lois.

I can just see her in this fancy salon, terrified they are going to destroy her hair. I loved when she finally had enough and yelled at them!

This was great, K. I loved it. smile

Annie
Wow! I sure didn't expect so many comments in response to this little throwaway story. Does it mean I ought to thank Tank-the-Evil-Master for forcing me to write about a haircut? goofy

First and foremost, I think we can throw a party! TANK IS UNRETIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!! evil - the stats say so [g]), Paul, Irene, Tank (you're not retired any more, yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Kathy, Rat, Melisma, Loriel, Breanna, James (nope, not evil! Innocent!), Tricia, Merry and Annie (check the poll: Kaethel is NOT evil [eg])! Your enthusiastic feedback is truly overwhelming and sure encourages me to try my hand at funny stuff again. smile

Kaethel smile
Okay, Kae, all the gushing aside, where is the next story? Remember, you're only as good as your next story. Or as evil as your next story...

Hurry up with it, girl!

Melisma (ready, under her Rock, to vote with the Kaethel Is Evil crowd, unless Kae posts another story soon goofy )
Working on it, Melisma. smile I have three main WIPs at the moment, and all of them are much longer than anything I've posted in a while. So hang in there, watch this space, I might post something longer sometime. goofy

Thanks for the interest!

Kaethel smile
Helene, apologies for being so slow over reading this story. You know, everyone is right. This was evil. Wonderful, too. But still very, very evil.

I didn't see that last line coming, either, although, like others, I had noted the incongruity of having Cat in there. I'd also noticed the problems with combing Lois's hair, and I was thinking that, even in a bob, she shouldn't have been experiencing that much trouble / pain. (Yeah, I went through a long hair phase a few years ago; it got down to somewhere below my shoulder blades before I decided to revert to short and easy to manage. I remember those knots. Vividly. Ouch.)

Chris (who was going to try to get a trim this afternoon, but is now having serious doubts.)
Chris!! Thank you for the comments. smile And LOL re the trim. Don't worry, I really compiled everything I hate about hairdresser's in that fic, but I still go to my usual salon and they don't make too much of a mess. laugh Even if, yes, they always want to do a magical masque.[g]

Yes, the knots sort of give it away, don't they? Though it could have been late S2 Lois, since her hair reached her shoulders then. Still shorter than I've ever had, but I imagine short-hair isn't devoid of knots anyway. laugh

Kaethel smile (thinking of letting her hair grow back to her waist - sorry Tank goofy )
