Hello. Since I've given up on Vegas 4.0 (whaaaaaa it was awesoem!) and I'm using Windows Movie maker two now. I'm a real newbie at it. How do you extract only the audio portion from a video clip?

Try this - import the video with the audio that you need into your project. Then drag the video down onto the "Audio/Music" track. You will see that the audio comes without the video, and when you hit "Play", you will hear the audio from the video without any images appearing on the preview screen. You can then adjust the clip the way you would adjust any other music audio.
