I don't have the ability to post a video. Is there anyone that can help me?

Oops, I didn't hit the right folder! Sorry if someone has to move it. blush blush
Roo,

I actually have no idea what I am talking about, but I think you have to upload the video to a web site, and then you can put the link on the boards -- like by using the url command.

If that actually made sense wink -- I should leave this to the people who actually know what they are talking about.

How big? And is it an LnC video?

Yes it is an LnC video. I've been working on making the video smaller but the quality is bad.

I'm still learning but ugh.

The origninal is HUGE 330MB...so bad.
Now I'm down to 6MB...but it looks bad.

ARUGH.

The big problem for posting LnC Videos is bandwidth use. Many websites, free and otherwise, have the room for the video file. Most of mine run 6-12 MB. Not a problem on my 500MB website

BUT

the problem is the bandwidth that it takes for fans to download the file to their own computer or even to watch it. Many months there is an extra charge for the over usage of bandwidth on my website and I'm sure Angelfire will be quite restrictive about how much bandwidth you use. That is why we get the message that the file is unavailable.

I don't know how long that video file of yours is, but why don't you try downloading Windows Movie Maker 2 and upload your video into that program instead? Then you can just save it onto your hard drive, and hopefully the file will be much smaller.

Hope that helps.

Well I made it to 6MB and no website I sign up with, that can accomodate the size, will make it work. I've been trying to get my free space due to me off my internet service provider, but they keep ignoring me.

When I play it in anything that is not Vegas 4.0 it is choppy. I'm gonna have to start from scratch...AGAIN. This time I'm going to try the Windows Movie Maker 2.

It was soooooooo kool looking. Everything flowed so well. Maybe I made it too complicated.

Ack. I'm going to get some sleep and then work on it. I'm sick of listening to the song I'm working with. Blah. razz

It's all good.

Thanks for all the help guys. I really want to show you what I've been up to. Hopefully I'll be able to get something off my annoying computer soon rather than later!

No no, you don't have to start all over again. When you saved the finished video file, what format was it in? .rm? .wmv? Anyway, just upload the *finished file* into Windows Movie Maker 2 (File - Import into Collections), drag all of it it down to the timeline and save the file.

And if your file is down to only 6 mb, freewebs.com can host it for you smile

I use angelfire too. You need help making a link? I've never done anything with videos and stuff, but I've uploaded webpages and pics, so how different can it be?

To make the link, you click on the url button on the lois&clark post-a-message thingy. In the box, you type www.angelfire.com /(your name)/(your other name)/(the file name).(file type)

Example: http://www.angelfire.com/hero/batgirl1/lookup.jpg

What are you having trouble with?

Were you able to upload it?
Where did you put the file?

I can't think of any other questions at the moment.

Hi, you can compress the video more a couple of ways. Real Producer is one way. I think it is still a free program. Also Windows Movie maker compresses files. If you make a real player file with Real producer it will play in Real player. If you use movie maker it will make a AVI file that plays in Windows Media. Either way if the file is under 5 MG you can usually load it up on a free site. 5 mg is the limit. If you still have trouble e mail me , maybe I can get the file and do it for you. Laura
