Service Pack 2 was download on my laptop yesterday but when I read that it would take up to a hour to install and turn my laptop on and off during this time I canel the install out.


I'm scare it will crash my laptop. I had a serive pack crash my old desktop.

I only have Vista Basic and 512MB of ram so I'm not sure it my laptop can handle this new update.

Does anyone know anything about this new Service Pack?

Version and RAM don't make a difference in regards to the stability of the installation. The time estimation is quite accurate. My machines had been up to date in terms of regular hotfixes but still, installing the service pack took an hour to an hour and half. But other than taking the time it needs, it just worked.
