Thank you! - 11/07/12 04:12 PM
Hi all,
I just had to share some exciting news with you. I decided to do a semi-major overhaul of my stories "The Diagnosis" and "Echolalia" to remove any references to the L&C universe preparatory to self-publishing the edited versions on Amazon.com. (I renamed the former story to "The Fires of Autism" and added several references to the fire metaphor throughout the story.)
The stories went live yesterday, and I have had a sale of each of them. So, speaking in a strictly technical sense, I am now a professional author of fiction. (I phrased it that way because I have co-edited a non-fiction book published by Oxford University Press and have written some chapters in other published books.)
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have left such supportive FDK. It wouldn't have taken much to squash my newbie-fanfic-author ambitions when I posted my first few L&C stories here. (I had only written a smattering of other fanfic, and no original fiction, prior to that time.) Instead, the feedback I received was uniformly encouraging.
My thanks, also, to anyone who has BR-ed or GE-ed my stories. I have learned a lot from the suggestions you gave me.
Now I just hope that this spurs my muse on to giving me an idea for a new story...
Joy,
Lynn
