Designed for little children in China. Can you do it? I'm still trying... blush

Frog Leap Test

edit: got there eventually, still I'm not as smart as a second grader. goofy

I did it! But I think it took longer than two minutes to figure it out.

If you want, I can wait a certain amount of time, and if you haven't figured it out, I can post a solution.

I got it in less then 2 minutes...and then tried to do it again to keep track to explain and forgot what I'd done. Oops. smile

Well, I think I took about two minutes, but at least I remember how to do it. The trick is to never have two frogs of the same color beside each other (unless it's the very beginning or the end).

I got it. I guess I'm at least as good as a second grader smile1

Well, that's strange. I tried the test and could not get it. At all. No matter how many times I tried. I finally gave up.

Then, unable to accept defeat, I decided to give it another go. I clicked on the link again, began moving frogs, and within about 15 seconds I had successfully moved all the frogs across the pond. No idea why it seemed so hard the first time, nor why it came so easily just now.

I'm doin something wrong, I think.

One frog lept, and I'm done XD No more moves.

Help, my brain won't solve apparently simple puzzles!

I guess I would have failed grade 2 in China! Pretty sad huh? Can anybody give me the solution?

I'm typing up the answer and will post in a few minutes with big spoiler marks for those who want to solve it on their own. BTW, this can be done from either direction. Just use a mirror image of the moves I suggest.

"M" stands for the green male frogs. "F" stands for the brown female frogs. Underscore _ stands for the empty rock. I italicized the frog I am going to move.

MMM_FFF
MM_MFFF
MMFM_FF
MMFMF_F
MMF_FMF
M_FMFMF
_MFMFMF

Do you want to pause here and try the rest on your own? If so, ignore the following

But if you're still stumped, here's the rest of the solution:

FM_MFMF
FMFM_MF
FMFMFM_
FMFMF_M
FMF_FMM
F_FMFMM
FF_MFMM
FFFM_MM
FFF_MMM

The frogs were male and female?

/me goes back to look more carefully at the frogs.

blush Talk about unobservant. The whole time I was playing the game, I never noticed the lipstick on the brown frogs.

Interesting is that the text is in Portuguese. wink

Thanks Sheila for the solution.

I had to look at the first three and got it from there. grumble I too didn't notice the male/female frogs! I guess I was too preoccupied that the frogs weren't moving where I wanted them to go. smile
