CNN reports that Pavarotti passed away. I always hoped I'd get to see him sing in person.

I got to "see" him live in concert quite a few years ago. He was just a little black speck with a white handkerchief from the opposite long side of a soccer stadium. It was unforgettable.

I love opera because of him: now I like many tenors and sopranos and know about younger singers, but I began to know about operas listening his performances on TV or on CD.

You can find many of his performances on YouTube, including with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras (in The Three Tenors performances).
