hi everyone!

I'm currently writing a paper on the irish factory Waterford Crystal (/me gets nostalgic, remembering visiting the manufacture as a kid)... Okay, scratch that, it's already written, but I have a real technical and terminology like question:

does the english term 'stemware' refers only to stem glasses or all stemmed items, like bowls, etc?

Just for my personnal culture smile

thanks in advance for your answer to this completely 'off-topic' question wink

Hi Carole:
According to the dictionary, stemware applies only to glasses and goblets, specifically for the sipping of wines and liquors. The idea is to spin the stem, swishing the wine in the goblet to release the aromas.
cool

Thanks Artemis! smile

That's also the logical explanation I came to, but I wanted to be sure...and as I don't have an english-english dictionnary :p
