Well? What do you think?

Wonderful as always, Shayne. I do get the feeling that Lois did not agree in all things with Clark.

Even without the standards set by the challenge this was an ingenious peek into another perspective. The characterizations, even that of the absent Lois, rang true. You did a good job portraying the look of this future world with very few words. I enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks for sharing,

Loved this story. How interesting to see Lucy as the heroine--and you illuminated so many truths about humans. smile

This thought of Lucy's struck me:
Quote
The one red dress from beneath was as beautiful as it had been the day her sister had worn it.
It makes me wonder if it's the red dress Lois wore to Georgie Hairdo's casino, and if she was the one who didn't survive that night, since Lois apparently only wore it once. If so, the dress would have special significance for Kal-El, and very few others would grasp the emotional impact it would have on him. If this is true, then we can get a glimpse of how much Clark needs Lois in his life, how much he needs that flawed, stubborn, headstrong, take-no-prisoners woman by his side. It shows us just how much Lois means to Clark, and by extension, how much she means to Superman. Without her, there probably wouldn't have been the Superman we all know.

Very poignant, Shayne. Sad and bittersweet, with just enough hope to soften the blow. That one's a definite keeper.

As always, you write poignant fic. This had your handwriting all over it: thoughtprovoking, futuristic, descriptively succinct... You've written another masterpiece.

How did I miss this thread before? I read this story when it first was put up, and I thought I left comments on it. Weird. Well, here's my feedback. I hope I remember the details correctly...

I loved your story as well. I always thought that with Superman's powers being what they are, it would be so much easier to use them for destruction/conquering than helping humanity. But even in this story, where Superman does take over the world, he's still Clark at his core. *Trying* to help, even if he's being hurt and stubborn and going about it completely wrong.

And how valiant of Lucy to stand up to him--some real Lane genes at work! And how it must hurt Superman to see her, so much like her sister, dressed in *that* dress. His love for Lois shines through--he can't bring himself to use his own laws to stop her. And here we thought Supe's greatest threat was colored green!
