What a telling comment. Lisa may be young, but she's figured Clark out in two shakes of a lamb's tail. She and her mom are going to have to work very hard to convince her dad that he's not a bad person. And despite his best efforts, Lois actually has a head start on it. Without knowing it or realizing it (not yet, anyway), she's seen both Kal-El and Clark up close and personal, and she thinks Clark is preferable to Kal-El, despite her self-defense moves to put space between them.
Ann, I've come over to your side. He needs to tell Lois right about now who else he really is. She needs to know the whole man, whether he thinks he's good enough for her or not.
I have this scene in my head.
Lisa tries to hint to her mother to get closer to Clark, but they both rebut the suggestion. The conversation goes on long enough for Lisa to come to a boil and blurt out the truth. After thinking about it, Lois slowly removes Clark's glasses and looks at him for a moment. Then she slaps him as hard as she can and snarls, "Don't pretend that hurt, Superman!"
Just like the series after all.

Hey Shayne,
I am really enjoying the story so far. In the last chapter, Lisa's newly forming bond to her father was heartwarming. The suspected collection of the bracelets scare me, as does Skeletor (i.e. Lana).
I'm also a bit nervous about the shaky road the two damaged people named Lois and Clark will have to face before they come together. I hope Lois gets let in on the secret soon- poor Lisa has had to keep her mom in the dark about a lot of stuff. The pressure is only going to build.

mm good chapter. The development of relationship between Laura and clark was nicely done. Of course, being the romantic that I am, when is this all going to lead to Lois and Clark getting together?
I hope Laura learns to tune out stuff soon! What if something happened between Clark and Lois at the estate?!

But let's get back to the actual story:
Lisa is right. It's wrong to shut Lois out.
Who is that someone? Lana Lang? But how can they find out?
Go, Lois!!
Love this. Lisa just happened to tell Clark that she missed out on having him around when she was younger, but then she tells him that she wants to hear about his childhood, not talk about her own.
I'm glad that Lisa realizes how unbelievably important Lois is to her.
It's interesting that Lisa immediately thinks of her mother's family when she imagines the horrible prospect of losing her mother. I just don't get the impression that she would be similarly devastated if she lost her father. And she isn't thinking to herself that her father would take her in if her mother died.
I love how Lisa is comforting Clark.
Beautifully written.

Indeed, he should spend the rest of his life with someone really nice like Lois!
