this idea just didn't let me go, so I decided to write it down.

The format of the story makes it a little difficult to read. Spacing between paragraphs would help.

I'm glad you like the idea. Well, Lois and Clark will meet of course at some Point, or this wouldn't be a Lois & Clark fanfic... :-) I could say more about that but I don't want to spoil anything...
About the Format: Thanks for the hint. I'll see what I can do about it. This is one of the things I just don't realize how they look like because I only see one line at once, but I'm sure this can be avoided in the future.

Well, that's the reason I wanted to write it.
I got this idea after reading a fanfic of another fandom with not the same/similar premise, but after reading this one I thought "What if someone Tasks Clark with stopping Lois from hanging over the jaws of death?"
Thinking about Sam Lanes backstory in other media, he was an easy choice.
And so the fic was Born.
Anyway, glad you like it.:-)

PS to all: I hope to post once a week, maybe all two weeks if I don't find the time earlier. We'll see about that.

As Bakasi said, this is an interesting premise and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.
