So after the last few years of major whammy epics I thought a fun WAFFY was in order. In honor of Mother's Day, I give you WAFF. Hope everyone enjoys.

Thanks!

Story Here

That was definitely WAFF. smile I love the scorch marks Jon leaves and Clark's sentiments of finally being able to give something back to his parents. Nicely done.

Very WAFFy story, Folc4. I think it's cute that both you and JellyS2 posted stories with similar themes on the same day, both referring ultimately to Mother's Day. sloppy

Your challenge, should you decide to accept it, is to craft a companion tale for Clark's Father's Day breakfast (or lunch, or dinner, or light snack, or takeout) and make it just as good as this one is. Happy writing!

Kara’s embarrassment faded a little. “Thanks, Mom,” she said bashfully. “And I promise I’ll buy you a new toaster.”

shock

I don't want to know.

Thanks for the story, it went straight to the funnybone!

Thanks for the fun story. I'm with Terry; I appreciate both your and JellyS2's takes on the Mother's-Day-Breakfast-gone-awry theme. The share some elements, but are each distinct from the other.

Joy,
Lynn

Aww, love the WAFF throughout! And I love how it circled back at the end - Jon's inherited bad cook gene.

Very sweet story - thanks for sharing it with us!

Hi Valerie!

Smoke.

It was everywhere. The smoke detector was blaring
And the MFD’s first experiences with Lois Lane.

Quote
"Lois, I don't think they're supposed to look like that!" Lucy pointed to the pile of blackened goop.
They’re a science fair exhibit about the proto plasma that became the first monocellular lifeforms on Earth.

Mom reached up to brush a tear from her eyes, "It's certainly a memorable….Mothers Day gift."
Well, should keep her busy for the rest of the day.

Quote
“Sky’s the limit.” Clark gestured to the sky above.
So, Italy?

Quote
“How’s Lois?” Ellen found herself blurting out,
Vocal. And foulmouthed.

Mothers Day, 2019

Jon Kent brushed his sleeve against his brow, looking around the smoke-filled kitchen.
rotflol So, definitely not adopted, huh?

Quote
he looked down at the pan in his hand, staring down at the fried eggs that had somehow ended up nearly raw in the middle but overdone on the outside. He didn’t dare try and use his heat vision again for fear he’d burn something else.

How had he forgotten?
Yes, how had he forgotten who his mother was. On *Mother’s Day*.

Quote
“Well, look on the bright side,” his mom spoke up from behind them. “At least the kitchen’s still in one piece.”
Yes, and no nice-looking blonde firefighter needed to come and rescue the poor, almost-adult teenage boy from the raging kitchen fire.

Quote
“Yes,” his dad leaned closer to his mom and kissed her. “Happy Mother’s day.”

Awww clap

A la Lane, indeed!

Thanks, JellyS2!

Glad you liked Jon's little mishap in the kitchen. I figured with all the chaos the other powers coming in must have caused flight probably was something that young Clark would have had fun with.

Hey Terry,

Thanks for reading. Well, kitchen mishaps are a Lane tradition, right?

I'm glad you enjoyed this one. Believe it or not I do have a companion piece for this one planned. I hope it's as enjoyable as this one was for you.

Thanks for reading!

Hey Vicki wave

Glad you liked my little toe dip into WAFFiness. I tried to have fun with it and show the connection throughout. Happy it came across in the end.

That's probably a better description. Pancakes are a stretch...

Yeah, I don't think Lois would approve.
