Thanks it is an interesting start. Hope you can come back later to expand upon the idea.

Very intriguing! Would love to see more.

You've pulled me out of my lurkerdom!! I once had the idea for a ficlet based on the scene at Lois's apartment when Superman was blinded where Clark was blind and Lois had laryngitis and was pretty much mute. I was reminiscing on it while I read this one. Interesting setup!

Hi Mary!

Quote
Lois almost didn't need the cane. She had every square inch of the Planet's newsroom memorized,
So, what happened. Did she see Superman naked and go blind?

Quote
There were voices inside: Perry, of course, and a male voice that she didn't recognize. Their conversation stopped when she threw the door open.
I wonder, would she be able to distinguish Clark and Superman by voice only? And what about touching their faces? Oh, yeah, so The Pilot, I guess?

Quote
“Chief, I think there's a story here and we should check this guy out! The crazy one this morning? His name is Samuel Platt and he was an engineer at EPRAD for ten years. He's—”
How *is* she getting those investigations done, though. I mean, sure, being blind makes you invisible, but you also have kind of a disadvantage when snooping around and collecting evidence. Also, there was a news paper article about a guy who trained himself to use echo location. He’s supposedly driving a bike while being blind. Hmm…/googles/…There’s a wiki page! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_echolocation

Quote
“Nice to meet you,” she rattled off quickly, then returned to the subject at hand. “Anyway, this guy worked on the Messenger...”
Probably didn’t hear the outstretched hand.

Quote
The alarm was blaring, now. Despite the ear-splitting noise, Lois could still faintly make out the soft ticking of the bomb.
How the. What the… Also, please refer to my earlier remark about her differentiating Clark and Superman in her present condition. BTW, I gather she did not discover that he’s nine o’clock earlier in the episode, huh? Unless she decided to touch until she found out where the clock hands were pointing?

Quote
“I, uh, ate it,” a voice replied. Wait a minute, she knew that voice!
See? See!
LOIS: razz Now, that’s just plain offensive!

Quote
Lois frowned. “Very funny, Kent. Now, what really happened? And how did you get in here?”
rotflol

Quote
“Fine,” she acquiesced. “But there had better be one heck of an explanation!”

As it turned out, there was.
laugh She should certainly have fun finding out more about how his costume ‘looks’, though.

Cute one. Still wondering about how much of Matt Murdock she has inside of her, though. Also, awesome title!

Wow Queenie, this is a really cool ficlet! It begs for expansion. grovel

Very cool! Love how the costume can't dazzle her this time around so she knows who he is. They DO say the other senses are heightened when you are robbed of one. And Lois is whip-smart enough to use them all to the best of her ability.

Please write more? Is the blindness temporary? Permanent? Will Clark woo her with far less bumps in the road since she picked up on him so easily? Gah! The possibilities are endless!

What an intriguing snippet!
Lois will be Lois in any universe she inhabits! I suspected as much, but I really relished her moment of recognition! hyper

I second these questions... Yours is a quite interesting start and I’d really love to read more.

Great title! It completely makes sense that Lois would immediately recognize him - Clark really doesn't go out of his way to change his voice when he puts on the suit. (This also really annoys me on "Supergirl," because she doesn't bother to try and change her distinctive voice at all!) Great idea and perfect execution. thumbsup

I've been listening to the very old Adventures of Superman radio show, and Bud Collier changes everything about his voice between Clark and Superman. It's quite impressive! Even the redoubtable Christopher Reeves didn't do as well.

Anyway, great ficlet, Queenie! I always enjoy your very interesting take on our favorite couple!
D'aw, thanks! ^__^

Well, this was a funny little in-betweenie, but I admit that this is a good starting point for more and I hope there is more to come.
As someone whos is blind I can say that indeed I don't need a cane in places I'm well-conected with, and I never use one in my flat or the house I live in, but most of the time I take it with me on the street in in open buildings like the school because you never know which crazy ideas to put something in youw way another one of this seeing people just had. :-)
And it's true that Clark/Superman's voice in the show is totally recognizable - As for me, as I don't can see him, I always wonder how persons didn't recognize him when he speaks to them as Clark and 10 seconds later as Superman...

This was great. Definitely an interesting AU that would be very neat to expand on. smile
