I ended up finishing this earlier than intended, so here it is Part 2 of Into The Fire. Thank you again for all of the wonderful feedback and the warm welcome to this Super place.

“What is Superman looking after her, CK,” Jimmy asked knowing full well that Clark wouldn’t let Lois go without some type of an agreement between them.

Tried reading this line a few times, but it does not make much sense.

Quote
“Bruce is having a dinner party at the Metropolis Embassy Hotel and he wants me to introduce him to some influential people in Metropolis like the Mayor and Commissioner,” Lois explained.

“You have a date with the man you were supposed to interview this morning,” Clark muttered letting go of Lois and turning away. He put his hand through his hair like he did every time he was frustrated and sighed.

Lois has plans with 'Bruce'? She just met this guy! Clark my friend, I suggest you accompany your girlfriend to this event and 'both' of you introduce him to Metropolis' elite.

Quote
“Because he has done exactly what Lex did,” Clark shouted realizing that Lois was not seeing what was right in front of her. He didn’t trust Bruce Wayne, Clark didn’t trust anyone that demanded an interview only with Lois. Clark had overheard Mr. Wayne’s secretary on the phone with Perry the day before, he would only give the interview with Lois, and Clark was not to be involved.

Ouch! splat

Where do we go from here?

I was trying to explain that now that Clark and Lois are dating, and how so many billionaire bachelors have tried to kill Lois before that Lois shouldn't be left alone with them. Since Jimmy doesn't know that Clark is Superman, Jimmy thought maybe Clark asked Superman to look after Lois from a distance without her knowing it. I didn't do a very good job of explaining it.

Lois is once again making the mistake of trusting the wrong people. Thinking the best in people just like she did with Patrick in When Irish Eyes Are Killing and with Lex in all of Season 1. Clark will do what he does best when it comes to Lois - protecting her. She may get angry at him at first, but in the end she will realize it was for the best ... hopefully.

Jimmy and Perry are acting much like sexist jerks. Lois is a grown woman and a professional reporter, who doesn't need to be babysat. Just because she made a mistake once with Lex, doesn't mean she'll give up everything she has with Clark because another rich businessman makes eyes at her. They're treating her like an irresponsible child. If Bruce asked specifically for Clark not to be there, I'm thinking he knows that more about Clark than Clark would want this stranger to know. This is the tactic Clark should've used, instead of saying that he couldn't trust Lois with this guy. Clark being a heavy handed jealous boyfriend will have Lois running for the hills. I agree that instead, he should've volunteered to come to the party as her escort. Accusing Lois of being an idiot and falling for another slick villain, sure won't earn him any boyfriend points.

I wonder why Lois's brakes went out. Is someone out to get her? I can't believe it was Bruce (since we know he's not that bad of a guy).

You've done a good job on reminding these reporters that they lack personal communication skills. thumbsup Now, you just need to teach Clark how not to be lunkhead.

“Maybe he meant a woman who turned his life upside down,” Clark uttered. “Jimmy told me what you were working on.”
Did you mean "met" here instead of "meant"?

Yes, I did. Even when two of us go through the story and I tend to rush through it, I miss these things. Thank you.

Yes, communication skills have never been their strong suite.
