Who is "Le Vengeur"? 
For those of us who don't speak French, we can only assume she means the Avenger. I'm also guessing that he's not actually dead, but more shot or left for dead. Good thing Cedric feigned illness the night before.
Yes, Cedric was a bit too confident when he left to rescue the unknown wealthy carriage. I fear that carriage carried none other than Lucius himself! Jacques has every right to fear, especially since we know that Lucius is springing a trap for the Avenger.

Sorry ... I thought that "Avenger" and "Vengeur" were close enough sounding to be fairly clear. But, point taken ... I've made a slight change to this section. Thank you for the feedback. :-)

Oh my!Considering we are half way through the story, I'm fairly confident that The MA/Cedric will be ok. But this definitely sounds like quite the bump in the road
. Lucius back, huh? Gotta have some connection to our favorite villian.
