I'm a bit confused ... what happened to Ralph being in charge at the Planet? Did I miss something?

It did go by rather quickly. The publisher was going to put Claude in charge, not Ralph. That was when Lois told them that she had transferred Claude so they tapped Perry to fill in.

It is an old custom that us still practiced especially by country folk, I mean deep country. For example I think some of the Amish and Mininite sects still practice.

"An Unusual Proposal" was a delightful series. I am genuinely looking forward to the next set of episodes. Married to Lois... humm.... I'm willing to bet Lois is going to get exactly what she deserves - Clark!
