I especially liked the paragraph with Perry near the end. It sounds like he definitely learned his lesson from Alice (

I'm glad you enjoyed that paragraph. It was partially based on a true story my grandmother once told me about my grandfather angering her by asking her to cook something the way his mother cooked it. She didn't end up throwing a pie in his face like Alice did, though.

Oh, I always leave a bit of an idea for a sequel open just in case I decide to write one.
That would have been an interesting direction to take the story.
