Got this one finished up and ready for posting earlier than I anticipated!

This is a nice companion piece to the other part from Lois' POV. I enjoyed seeing how he immediately recognized something special in her, what she was hiding from everyone else, and how he acknowledges that over time, she seems to be the opposite of how he first met her, but that really those pieces of her were always there. Their connection and acceptance of each other for everything they are is what makes their relationship special.

Thank you! I do think Clark immediately recognized that Lois was something special, and I do think that the way he treats her in the series shows us that he's very shrewdly picked up on everything she tries so hard not to show...especially not to him.
Unbelievably good! You're such a great writer, DC, and I always enjoy what you have to offer, and these two companion pieces are some of my absolute favorites! I love how Clark sees Lois, how he recognizes her as a kindred spirit and seemingly sets her up on a pedestal -- except, to him, it's not a pedestal at all, just the even ground and he wants to make himself better to match her (if that made any sense at all! laugh ). I really love the progression shown here, but the second segment was probably my favorite, how he wants to be better for her, how she pushes him to be just that bit improved every day. He could have seen all the things she said to him as put-downs, but instead he saw them as invitations to be better, and I really love that distinction.

Also, I really loved how he saw Lois as the litmus test for humanity, ostensibly for Superman, but also really for everything. He sees humanity in her, and loves her for it (and loves humanity for her), and that was shown very well through this story.

Thank you so much for the beautiful pieces!

Wow! More amazing praise! blush Thank you!

I totally get what you're saying about the not-pedestal. She's just a normal person but he feels like he has to climb from a lower level to be worthy of her. I think it's true of canon Clark that he really doesn't take what Lois says as put-downs, just learning opportunities or opportunities to tease her back and find his way into her friendship. It's why we all love him.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback!

Exactly what makes Clark so special:

Quote
I want to fix all the broken pieces of her heart, to mend all the hurts she carries within the privacy of her soul. I want to right all the things that are wrong in her world.

I want to be her world.

She's already my universe.

notworthy thud love To be loved like this. Wow. My WAFF-meter is off the charts smile.

Probably my favorite part about Lois and Clark's relationship is the connection they find. How they both really have never been able to be themselves--always hiding, in some form or another--from others. The fact that they find in each other a way to unlock themselves, better themselves, is so beautiful. So moving. That is so much why I think Clark is drawn to Lois immediately. He senses how she is hiding, how there is so much 'underneath', can relate to that, and knows how similar they really are.

I think it's everyone's dream to find the person they are meant to be with. Their journey--Lois and Clark's--is so much sweeter because of the long road it took to find one another.

You picked up on their love so well throughout this piece. How intimately Clark knows Lois. How deeply Clark loves Lois. How life-changing meeting Lois was for him.

Completely beautiful. Amazing clap

Thank you again! I also love the deep connection they find. They are so alike - both feeling alien to the world they live in, both seeking the one who can see who they truly are. It makes the relationship really beautiful.
