It would be too complicated being married to her, having to explain things, having to hide things.
They really are two of a kind, aren't they? Each wanting to marry the other, each afraid to do so, each planning to keep secrets from the other if they should actually marry -- secrets that would be much better shared.

Oh great, they are both in a panic about the pact. This should be easy just agree to end the pact but this is Lois and Clark they could never do something that easy. Plus deep inside they neither one want to end the pact they both really want to go through with it. This could be both exasperating and hysterical for the next year as they dance around figuring that out and admitting it...

I guess Perry will end up having to step in and referee as they don't look like they will be able to work together (heck be in the same room) if they both stay in the emotional state they appear to be in right now.

Mid-30's, and they still don't have their acts together. Sigh. wink

It would be fun if the dating site matched them up. Kind of a "Shop Around the Corner"/"You've Got Mail" take. laugh

They are in their thirties and still playing games?

What does Clark like? Or rather, what does he want his perfect girl to like? Think, Lois, think.

That final sentence would be a whole lot closer to the truth without both the second 'think' and the first comma. laugh

Very nice start.

Corrina.

Thanks for all the comments.

*grin* Really! How many people thought Lois didn't really mean it back in the Prologue?

Oh yeah. You really expect them to tell the truth, trust the other, from the very start? Where would the story be then>

You think Lois will find Prince Charming, or you think she'll find a super guy? smile

Yeah. Prologue = 26 years old. Chapter 1 = 34 years old. Still not sorted out their love lives. *tut* *tut*

Depends on what you mean by playing games. They do play Trivial Pursuit in Chapter 5!

Interesting! I am really loving this story...

Both in a bit of a panic--knowing deep down what they want, scared to go for it...and now Lois trying to not only set Clark up, but also herself. Why do I see a few painful dates in their futures (them both going on dates with other people and the other one being miserable knowing they are out on the date, and likewise, each of them going on dates with others--and all the while on the date, being miserable knowing they'd rather be out with each other instead)?

I'm hoping for them being matching up--come on, they really are perfect together...everyone can see it (even them, I think here, when they are being totally honest with themselves wink ).

Hoping the Pact does indeed stand true and they end up saying 'I do' hyper clap dance

Well, she wants a way ... any way at all ... to make the Pact invalid. She's increasing her chances by trying to get both of them in a relationship rather than only one.

LOL. That would be good. But that would also require both of them to know that the other was actively trying to get out of The Pact. At the moment ... no one is talking!!!!

I don't think it will be a spoiler to tell you that ... The Pact will get fulfilled. Hope that makes you happy.

I never understood those pacts. What if you’re seeing someone around 35 but then break up some time later. Would the pact get invoked by default?

Well…not if she keeps sending her boyfriends to jail.

I totally agree. Victoria did not think it would be THAT big of a deal because she did not have them in a romantic relationship for this period of time. Only a marriage pact rotflol

As I said before who needs Nightfall. The Lois explosion could end the world. Maybe he should bring up Virginia's line in my sig as a defense...

You know, I've never thought about that either. What would happen? Seeing someone from age 33 to about 38 but then break up? Hmm.
