"I wish all my reporters knew that," Perry mumbled. He looked up. "Speaking of which..."

The door burst open. "Perry, you're never going to believe this."

Clark stood. "Lois?"

She turned towards him, her eyes wide. "Clark?"
Thanks smile .

Carol! You are the Queen of Evil Little Cliffies! Isn't there something in the bylaws against using Part 4's teaser as Part 5's cliffhanger? There ought to be.

Loved it, of course. It was worth the late night last night and blowing off the kids this morning to finish Forward just so I could read this guilt-free as soon as it was posted. laugh (I did reward the kids with a trip to the toy store as soon as I e-mailed it to you, so they forgave me.)

Okay, actual useful FDK: I love the way Lois longs for the Clark she married, but thinks he can't possibly be as good as he seems. I'm looking forward to seeing how he convinces her that he's not too good to be true. And, since she already knows about his powers, they'll be able to invent Superman together. Of course neither one of them actually wants a divorce. Clark just thinks that Lois does and Lois doesn't realize that staying married to the dream husband she remembers is not an unrealistic fantasy.

Looking forward to the rest. thumbsup

Sweet! You're going to wrap this up in another chapter or two with a minimum of angst, aren't you? wink

Oh, sweet! More soon! Yes, I can't wait until she sees Clark at the Daily Planet. Surely this has 10 or 20 parts to go, right?

BTW, since Clark and Lois get to meet at the Planet, I'm thinking it's not Clark at the door. I'm thinking maybe Lucy?

Lovely. smile Please not too much more angst. Especially as we have to wait until Friday for the next part. Its enough that they both believe the other one wants a divorce.
Anyway, I hope that it is Clark at her door - after all, all he knows about her, besides her 1st name, is her address!
Although, if he is considering applying to the Planet, surely he must have seen her byline by now?
Please post soon. Oh & I agree - using a cliffhanger as a preview? *not* fair! grumble

Nice! I'm a bit worried by Myerson's recruitment. Does this mean there's no open position for Clark at the Planet? Although, come to think of it, even in the original timeline he was recruited because of his initiative so... smile1 thumbsup

Oh, good - now is when things really start to get interesting! (And probably more angsty...)

I'm glad Lois went to talk to him, but I hope Clark had enough confidence or just stubbornness to be part of her life.

More soon please!

Martha and Jonathan exchanged a look. "Um, listen, son," Jonathan said, shifting uncomfortably in his chair. "We don't know this girl, anything about her, but are you sure the baby's yours?"
Yeah, good question hyper

Eek - you're right Michael. I went back and forth on the timeline and finally settled on her going home on Sunday v. Tuesday etc. Will edit it.

I'm with others - is it Clark at the door? But now all the feedback has got me wondering.

Poor Lois! She can't believe in a good guy. Your descriptions of those who have disappointed her in the past - poignant and moving.

What's so darn annoying is that she isn't giving him any time to talk or explain! It's "Hi, here I am, oh by the way I'm pregnant, let's get a divorce, bye now!"

And she does know Clark's secret - what effect will that have on them both? And on the creation of Superman, as previous posters have asked?

Looking forward to more well-written Carol fic!

Okay - going to post fairly quick generic feedback smile .

Thank you to everyone. I'm guessing 20-25 chapters all told, but not really sure yet. Daily or EOD postings will come when it's finished or at least much closer to done.

Who's at the door? Ah... RAFO here in a few minutes smile .
