I couldn't resist bringing it forward. Actually, I was tempted to separtate the two and have Fireworks, and After the Fireworks... But I'm already working on another epic. Comments? Many thanks for my Beta readers Mrs. Luthor and IolantheAlias for correcting my errors. BTW, guys, I changed some things since you last read through it. (Including the final line.) Fireworks TOC

/squints eyes/ “That’s right, Professor Carlton called me about you. Hey, he waited *years*? He’s going to kick himself if Lois had to get her experience some place else. and somewhere wandering about was a brunette Firecracker. Ooooh! He still remembers her. Clark nodded. “Paava leaves.” You know, I keep wondering what will happen when they do surprise drug tests… he started to say, when a woman with a brunette bob burst into his office. She nodded to Clark, immediately dismissing him. “Just give him the job already; I need him to help me with the Messenger story,” Lois said, not backing down. “You want to partner with him?” Mr. White said. /suggests a big shipment of paava leaves/ She shut the door after passing through it. Like a gust of wind? Like a…hurricane? “One day,” Clark answered truthfully. Does remote stalking count, too? Mr. White raised a disbelieving eyebrow. “Think you can handle her?” he asked. Uuuuu…

“Honestly, no, sir, but I’d die for the chance,” 'handling her' As he passed Mr. White, he heard him mumble, “It’ll be like Norcross and Judd again, I swear.” Did Lex also try to dance with Judd? Lois shut the door and backed him into the table, her body pressed against his and her finger pointed in his face. - - - - pressed against his and her finger pointed in his face. “It’s taken you long enough to arrive in Metropolis. Nine years, Farm Boy! Nine long years, I’ve waited for you! Michael

Ken: I'll have to catch up with you later. I've got to respond to your other FDK first. More? That's Four!

Wonderful epilogue, Virginia! I love how you change the Pilot: very funny... and very cute! I'd like to quote my favorite line, but it's impossible to find only one: I'd have to quote all the epilogue! Well done!

Just so you know...I'm supposed to be going to sleep now. I have to get up really early in the morning. I'm blaming any sleep deprivation on you and your story. He couldn’t believe he was here: The Daily Planet. Yay! I was hoping you'd bring us here. He indicated Clark, who was rising out of his seat. Lois Lane. She was even more beautiful than she had been all those years ago. Well, teenage years aren't kind to us all. All that awkwardness and stuff. He still loved her on second sight. Awww! You made me melt! He always knew she was what he wanted. Awww! Lois’s eyes widened as a grin appeared, and she grabbed Clark hand, shaking it with enthusiasm. “Clark Kent? The Clark Kent? Of course, you are. What an honor to finally meet you.” Awesomeness! “Yes, the Clark Kent. I’ve been following his career for years,” Lois said, grabbing his portfolio out of Mr. White’s hands.
She had? Why? Did she remember him? Perfect ruse to get him the job? You really should put that story about catching those Jamaican gunrunners towards the top. It was amazing, even though it was one of your early stories. She really *did* follow his work! Yay! “And, of course, Mr. Kent is the one who scooped me on the Congolese gun runners. I arrived two days after he left.” She shot him a scowl. I *do* love the idea of them interacting in the Congo. I've read one or two fics that delt with that premise. Clark’s jaw hung open. His portfolio, she was completely disorganizing it. *That's* what unhinges his jaw? Tsk tsk, Clark! Yes? And she wants to see him in the copy room, ASAP? Mr. White pointed at Lois again. “You, out.” Ooops? “You should give him that theatre piece, on trial. He’ll prove himself to you,” Lois said, not budging. Ah, was wondering if/how that would be worked in. “And? That mushy stuff is his forte, anyway,” Lois said, heading for the door. As in she remembers ALL about you, Clark. “Just give him the job already; I need him to help me with the Messenger story,” Lois said, not backing down. “Honestly, no, sir, but I’d die for the chance,” Clark replied, figuring what a pleasant death it would be. Thank goodness, he hadn’t found anything that could harm him. Oh, really? Clark smiled, liking that description. Wait. “Secret weapon?”
She grinned. “By the way, tell your mom I just finished all the jam she sent me for Christmas.”
“You contacted my mom?” What a wonderful, wonderful tale filled with WAFFy goodness! I bow to your skills!

Michael: I'm caught up! No, wait, more people have posted FDK! At least, I had time to work on WC offline. Hey, he waited *years*? He’s going to kick himself if Lois had to get her experience some place else. Maybe he likes a woman with experience? Maybe I'll write out some scenes on how Lois got from Florida to here. We'll see. Sometimes it's the not knowing and the wondering that makes a story fun.

I'm glad you like obsessive Lois chasing Clark all over the world. I figure if Lois ever really wanted something, she'd go after it, so why not a man?

Deadly Chakram: Wow, thanks! Sorry about your sleep. I'm blaming any sleep deprivation on you and your story. Clark: "....Yes..." Lois: "Well, by tomorrow morning, you won't be." Good thing he knows of a pilot who will fly them to Vegas super quick for super cheap. What a wonderful, wonderful tale filled with WAFFy goodness! I bow to your skills! Oh, my. Thank you. I'm just glad people enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it.

Wow, thanks! Sorry about your sleep. Don't worry about it. It was well worth it. I thought that usually was over by 16. Well, for us woman, at least. True. Ruse? What ruse? She HAS been following his career. Well, she laid it on a little thick for Perry's benefit. See. I figured she would get bored one day and check out what's going on at MidWest U's school newspaper, and then one day would turn to two, which would turn to weekly... Which went daily, then hourly? Conference room. The table's bigger. Good point. Good thing he knows of a pilot who will fly them to Vegas super quick for super cheap. He also never loses the luggage.

Michael: NO! Don't stop responding. I'm deathly allergic to an empty e-mail inbox. Which why it was necessary for them to kiss other people to realize it wasn't. Well, according to the prehistoric history class, men do the hunting, women the gathering. His teacher, Red Neckton just didn’t mention that they don’t do it like that in the big cities anymore. Well, Lois *was* trying to gather him, from a certain point of view. Right. Hurricanes usually leave an area in a wet mess, tornados in a dry one. Precisely. Well, she got her chance to unwind with Claude. According to Claude, you mean. She needs someone to fetch her coffee? He can then write about the experience of making hot water in space? That’s what I meant. Don’t remember if he told Lois that he’s from Smallville. Thought that was just Lana. I believe at one point he says, "There's no secrets in Smallville." I consciously went with the more creative solution It's nice when you surprise me. Hopefully, he won't have to wait as long as he did in canon. We could make a poll on that. OTOH, I do have several bunnies that only go up to and until they leave LnC in a sort of cleaned up mess with their relationship sort of but not completely in the same place they’ve been in canon. And just how they’ll possibly ever get past the awkwardness, well, they did get together in canon eventually. One doesn’t have to explain how they deal with a one night stand, now does one? Or we could just leave it open for later sequels?

Deadly Chakram: More FDK Sequels! Don't worry about it. It was well worth it. Thank you. Well, she laid it on a little thick for Perry's benefit. She was taken a bit by surprise. She knew he'd be coming someday soon, she just didn't realize it would be *that* day. Which went daily, then hourly? Unfortunately not. The Internet wasn't that detailed in the late 80s and early 90s. He also never loses the luggage. Luggage? They need clothes?
