I've had Lois call Lucy "Punky" a number of times in my stories, and I've seen it a few times in other's tales, but I don't remember now where the name originated. I don't recall if it's from the series or if it's from one of the Great Masters at the beginning of the fandom. Is it canon or fanon? Can anyone dispel my conundrum?

If it's not canon, then it's either fanon or my vivid imagination. If anyone can enlighten me as to which it is, I would be grateful.

Hi Terry,

A quick search found a 45 rpm from 1968, the artist is Lois Lane singing Punky's Dilemma (yes, really!).
Could this be the origin that someone started for fanon?

Sorry, I have no clue whether it was you or someone else. If you recall any of the other stories, it might narrow it down if they were written before or after yours. Before, and someone else started it; after, it may be your idea.

Lois Lane - Punky's Dilemma and Lazy Summer Day

(videos of songs below text on that page)

It looks like Paul Simon wrote the song from the picture on this You Tube video (click on the play button to see a close-up of the record) and Simon and Garfunkel pop up in the right column singing the same song.

You know, I would have testified in court that I got "Punky" from some other story, but if I did it's not on the boards. The earliest reference on the boards to Lucy as Punky is in my story "She's" back in 2006.

I'm going to search my copies of old stories from the archive and see if I can find it. I'm just not that smart.

Cuidadora, thanks for the reference to Lois Lane the English recording artist from the 60's and 70's. I don't remember ever hearing about her before. She has (had?) a nice breathy voice with good tone and pitch control. Very pleasing to the ear.
