Starting today, I see characters like quotes or apostrophes or dashes expressed as what I think are escape characters in multiple posts. Here's an example.

Quote
“Uh-huh.”

instead of

Quote
"Uh-huh."

I'm baffled. I tried this in both Firefox and Chrome with identical results. I'm only seeing this in posts earlier than 7/19/20 (today). Any tech advice? Maybe there's a setting on the browser I could change.

Annette's working on it with UBB support.

Looks like this has been resolved now.

Thanks Annette!

For those who are coming late to this thread, my initial post isn't me being brain-dead. Until our brilliant board admin Annette attacked the problem, this was quite vexing. The quote marks weren't quote marks at all, but something like "&qt" or something else unreadable by humans. Thank you, Annette and Folc4, for responding so quickly to this problem.

You heartily deserve these cheers. And now we can party on with our reading and posting!
