I'd like to point out that #5 could apply to just about anyone here, but lemme see... Author 1 NostalgiaKick, definitely Author 2 Hmmm...I don't know, but please send directions to their house. I'll bring my own fork. 3 ...Um...Shoot, I feel like this should be obvious... 4-6 Shoot, shoot, shoot... Author 7 Lynn!!! It's Lynn, right? I think so. 8 - 12 Bah. I need more coffee. Author 13 I was so set to identify this one as Lara Joelle Kent, who once mentioned her daughter being named Eowyn...except she's not listed here, and she said it was more the other parent's thing anyway. Drat. I clearly need to spend more time in chat. :p

Hi Queenie. Seven isn't me, but if it makes you feel any better, I wish I had that knowledge. My guesses: Author 2: Deadly Chakram? Author 3 has to be MouseRocks. Author 5: I agree with Queenie about #5 probably being a good description of most of us (definitely including myself), but I'm going to guess that the person who described themselves that way is Terry Leatherwood. Author 8: Morgana? Author 11: Ken J? Author 13: Dandello? Whoever it is, we share similar tastes. Incidentally, I may (or may not) be engaging in some misdirection by purposely guessing my hint as describing a different author so that my guesses don't provide clues as to which hint is mine. (Head games, much? ) What a fun game, and I am definitely interested in seeing the answers. Joy, Lynn

Really, Lynn? I thought you worked at a hospital or something. Or maybe it was a place near a hospital... Or maybe it was a place near someone who'd been to a hospital once. I may have to work on my retention skills. -_-

Hi Queenie,
I fear that I feel queasy at the sight of blood -- even what I know is fake, made-for-TV pseudo-blood. I'd love to have the knowledge for emergency medicine (information that I would pray I would never actually need), but I don't think my stomach would let me get that training.
But your memory is actually quite good. Once upon a time, I did work in the research area of a hospital. But my post-doc did not involve anything of a medical nature. It was dealing with computer recognition and synthesis of fingerspelling. That post-doc ended nearly two decades ago. I don't recall having mentioned this post-doc on the MB, but I guess I must have done.

Hmmm... I'm oh for two. The only one I was sure of was MouseRocks. If I am proven wrong on that one, I would really like to know the origin of that monicker. Thanks, DC.

You're number 3?! Wow, you fooled me. I had been so sure that the name MouseRocks was a paean to Disney's most famous character and was a dead giveaway for #3.
Good on ya!

Hahaha, I love that you guys thought #3 was me. Thanks for the misdirect, DC! (And yes, Lynn, that is the moniker's origin... I do love Disney but that's not my phrasing.) This is harder than I thought! Going to take some wild stabs... Author 11- is mozartmaid not on the list?? Hmm. Author 13- guessing Morgana but I have a feeling all these are gonna be wrong... Author 14- Lynn? Geez. This is waaaay harder than I thought.

This has been guessed before but folc has never said it is not. I am pretty positive Morgana is Author 6 and I probably have e-mails to prove it...

Thanks everyone for playing this round. The next round will be up this afternoon. Remember we are still looking for volunteers to present during the ceremony. We have 22 categories this year. (We promise no one that is nominated in a category will have to present for that category.... unless you're part of the KCOM ) Just email us at kcom@kerthawards.com to sign up or ask questions. So we had a lot of interesting guesses. Some were close and some were all over the place which is what makes this fun. Correctly guessed were the following: NostalgiaKick Deadly Chakram Mouserocks Ken J Folc4evernadayA lot of people did guess Morgana for knitting but she wasn't the only one that knits. Pay attention to the phrasing as that is your biggest clue.Guess the Author Round 1 AnswersCLeuch- Author 9 This author is a licensed professional engineer Deadly Chakram - Author 3 Disney runs in this author’s veins CarrieRene - Author 6 This author likes to knit Thomas MC- Author 13 This author loves Tolkien and Shakespeare Morgana- Author 14 This author loves to cook different recipes Terry Leatherwood- Author 12 This author is an amateur musician. Ken J- Author 7 This author has studied Emergency Medicine Cuidadora- Author 4 This author has rescued dogs who survived canine parvovirus as pups Folc4evernaday- Author 2 This author enjoys testing out different recipes in the kitchen. Thanks again for this fun contest. It's wonderful to learn something about the different authors. As for the phrasing, it might or might not have helped with my clue. On the one hand, those who know me know how much I delight in the different varieties of English, but on the other hand, that hint was almost longer than most of my stories. Looking forward to round two. Joy, Lynn

I kept on wanting to scream that Morgana is not the only one that knits. I knit something new almost every week because it helps calm my nerves. Plus I taught myself and I know to loom knit and use the needles; I just tend to use the looms more because they are faster, bigger, and I don't drop stitches.

Thanks again for this fun contest. It's wonderful to learn something about the different authors. I absolutely agree! Even though the only one I knew was me for this round, it was a fun learning experience! It's nice to learn new things about other authors and be surprised with who has similar interests.

Yes! I do love to cook different recipes. This weekend is going to be spent baking loaves of Tuscan bread. Next weekend perfecting my Chili for Super Bowl Sunday. Got my work cut out for me because the guy whose bringing chicken wings is a genuine chef! Pressure!
