This premise has promise! goofy

Let us see where the plot takes us.

Very very interesting. Guy rule... more like Lois should just come out and ask him and not let it fester! Ha! Communicate Lois, get those feelings out, Lois.

Interesting take. Lois and Clark not communicating? Yeah, that's canon! Looking forward to more!

Hi cuidadora!

Yes, those two have a tendency to do that, don't they? One is thinking one thing and the other thinking another....Thus making for a fun plot here. I WAS going to work on cleaning up Chapter 2 this week. Was being the operative word. My son shared his cold with me so now I'm too doped up with cold medicine to string proper sentences together. Hopefully this junk leaves soon so I can get the rest of this story finished. (I'm close to being done with the writing part just need to edit and flesh out some stuff).

Hi Carrie!

Yes, Lois doesn't like to sit around and wait. She wants answers and she wants them now.

I really like how you've started this. I remember when this challenge was originally posted and I loved the idea. Lois finding out about the 'Guy Rules' by overhearing the conversation at the copier was a clever way of introducing the concept to her.

I kept thinking that Clark was going to catch on to her line of thinking, but then I remembered that 'Lois' isn't one of Clark's fluent languages. Can't wait to read more.

Sorry (again) for the delayed response. It's been a rough weekend.

Clark speaks over 300 languages but 'Lois' is still a foreign language he's yet to master. Lois isn't even sure what she's thinking at this point so how would Clark? rotflol

I tinkered with the original concept of someone telling her but thought it'd be more fun to play with the concept from afar. Lois overhears a conversation and is utterly confused. She turns to her guy friends to figure out what in the world a 'guy rule' is and thus creating the tangled web and complicated dance. I should have Chapter 2 up by Thursday at the latest. Trying to rework a few scenes. Hope everyone's weekend went better than mine haha

Mucinex + Writing = Garbled mess you can't make heads or tails out of once you're feeling coherent

Okay, you know how much I love this and I love how it was Jimmy you kept sending the ladies.

Communicate people. Come on, just tell each other how you really feel. But of course that would be too easy and wouldn't make it so funny seeing Clark trying to figure out what is going on.

Oh wow, so Lois is willing to let her friendship with Clark slide, for the sake of an uncertain shot with Superman? Yeah.. I can see Clark being very angry when he twigs, and very hurt. Learn from the Guy Rule, Lois. Friendship first.

haha Well, a little bit of misunderstanding helps build good plot points. Don't worry I don't plan on dragging the miscommunication out too long.

Well, she's still focusing on the fact that Clark told her he isn't in love with her and she feels like Superman feels more for her than just friendship....more comes out in the next part.

Yes, Clark is going to be very very angry with Lois for sticking her nose in his personal life. Fireworks will commence in 000 seconds....

Banter between Clark and Jimmy! clap It's refreshing to see Clark angry at someone other than the bad guys. And his anger at both Jimmy and later Lois is totally justified.

Well, Clark should know better than to get between Lois and her investigation. It makes sense that he's so angry he forgot that. So now they're both angry. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

How do you do this? Helping me then still have time to write your own chapter? He has a right to be angry at her. And yet he still tries to be nice to her and she is still frustrated. He came back.

Hi cuidadora!

Yes Clark is very angry at Lois. So angry he didn't even care that he was hindering Lois' investigation. Lois is angry at Clark for getting in her way. Things will get more heated between them before it gets better and here on out you'll see a completely different a-plot on Operation Blackout.

I have this written a few chapters ahead. I just cleaned it up for posting.

Yes, Clark is verrrrryyy angry.

He's not going to just sit back and take it this time. Lois crossed a line.

Finally Lois is realizing what she did. But using Superman to get to Clark won't help. She needs to go to the source - Clark. Very good job, Val.

Happy Birthday btw!

This next chapter is a little longer but it needed to be to cover everything. Hope you all enjoy. Chapter 6 is up.

Chapter 5 - Wow, Clark is seriously angry. Too funny that Lois finds it easier to contact Superman than Clark.

Chapter 6 - My head is spinning with how fast things occurred! Wow! Amazing how quickly Clark and Lois reconciled once they both talked or yelled at each other. Nice they can see each other's point of view... finally! clap

Ah, the A-plot comes back. A-plot Interruptus? rotflol Look forward to seeing both how you resolve this differently than the show and if there's THE Revelation.

Hi cuidadora!

Thanks for reading and commenting. Yes, after all that fighting the making up had to be steamy wink All that pent up frustration with one another has to come out somewhere right?

Hope you enjoyed the ending. wave

Of course Clark shouldn't have gone to Lois' apartment after the dance! It only confused her that much more. How is the poor girl to get a grip on her relationship with Clark when he keeps stirring up confusion?

Ready to dive into this adventure!

Hi Morgana,

Yeah, it was quite a twisty web Clark wove himself by dancing with her as Superman and Clark in one night. Have fun reading!

Finally got caught up on this one! Now I'm sad that there isn't any more. frown What happens when Clark tells Lois the secret? What happens to Mayson in this timeline? Did Lois and Clark ever pick up where they left off with their smooching? So many questions! I need answers!

Part one

Lois, that man is only interested in you, not some bubble head named Candi!

How do you expect to learn more about Ryan if you don't re-connect with Molly? The woman is hiding something.

I am having a blast with this!

Ryan kidnaps Molly. Clark interfereswith Lois stakeout, so now Molly is in his clutches. But wait, there is more. Clark confronts Lois about her helping him get a social life! Unfortunately, before it gets good Mayson shows up! thud

This ain't your typical day at the office!

Part Four

I really feel sorry for Mayson, she got the short end of that lunch. Poor girl had to pay for both of them.

Lois. Clark. Having a full fledged fight in front of the newsroom staff is a big no-no. Perry has a good point; this is no place to fight. Go out there and track down that strange lead, there is a paper to be set up!

Really liked the story. Made me want to go back to the real episode and rewatch it. If only I had the time to really do that. sad

I think you portrayed Lois and Clark well. It's nice to see Angry!Clark every once in a while.

Thanks for sharing.

RL has been a killer for everyone I think. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what the name of the sequel was going to be then the more I thought about it the more it kinda morphed into a monster of it's own. This will be known as the 'Rules' series. I'm not rewriting EVERY episode of Season 2 but I'm selecting some of my favorites and rewriting them into this timeline and having some fun with them.

I'm glad you enjoyed the story and hope you have time to catch up on Rules of Trust. Chapter 3 is going up here in a few.

I think you portrayed Lois and Clark well. It's nice to see Angry!Clark every once in a while.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Bakasi!

Glad you enjoyed this one.

Yeah, Clark is allowed to get angry every once in awhile. Lois definitely pushed him there in this one.

RL got in the way so I just today got around to reading the tale. Downloaded it to my kindle from the archive.

Delightful, I loved the way you developed their relationship and the growth in Lois Lane. Great fun.

Aww, thanks! Glad RL slowed down enough for you to catch up on this one. It's kinda taken on a life of its own. There's Rules of Trust, Rules of Battle, and Rules of Family. I should have the next part up by the end of the month as well. Rules of Love
