There are fourteen chapters plus an epilogue, so we have a ways to go, both figuratively and geographically. Except for the Metropolis roads (modeled after those in our New York), I've driven each and every road mentioned in this tale, and been to nearly all of the cities and towns that pop up. It's amazing what you learn when you drive across the U.S. of A.

I'm wondering how lucky it was that the other officer had to take a pee. Was he in on the ambush? Looking forward to more.

Amazing start to this story. I am intrigued to find out about Franklin's possible involvement. Terry, you never disappoint when you put fingers to a word processor. I'm up for this road trip!

Thanks for reading and commenting, y'all! And to everyone who hasn't commented yet, thanks for reading!

Marcus, I know it's a bad idea to trust coincidences, but sometimes they do happen. We'll see if this is really one of them later.

Dandello, you share my level of evil. We'll see how perceptive you are soon.

SupesFan, thank you for the great compliment. I hope I can maintain your level of interest. And it's funny how everyone zeroed in on the DA's investigator so quickly. Maybe if I - naw, my betas would clobber me!

Next chapter already up!

I am so jealous of your ability to write A-plot. The drama sings off the page! Rushing on to the next part...

Just started. I love the beginning! Clark is so unClark like.
Interesting to start as a beat cop.
I'm up for more.
