Laurel Kent, daughter of Lois and Clark, does not know Clark Kent is Superman. When her powers begin to manifest she decides she is Superman's daughter.

With her grandparents Lane's example firmly in mind she plans to not let Clark know that his wife cheated on him with Superman.

Superman had distanced himself from Lane and Kent over a decade ago. Interest in Lois Lane and Superman faded completely as he acquired many other press contacts around the globe.

It was quickly noticed that most* if not all of his regular press contacts in dozens of cities around the globe besides being competent and well respected as reporters tended to be

  • Female
  • Under 30
  • unmarried
  • sexy

Laurel studies everything there is about Superman and is successful at keeping her powers hidden from her parents, so much so that Lois and Clark conclude she does not have any.

Cosplay is popular in this Lois and Clark 'verse and Laurel, once away at college, acquires several costumes. All are hooded and the hoods are shielded to prevent Superman finding out who she is.

None of her costumes are based on Superman and she is careful to not display all of his powers and to use different costumes in different locations. Giving the impression of being several different female heroes.

Picture this costume with the regular Captain America hood

or this Spidergirl costume Or add a hood to this one

Or this mask with Ms Marvell

*idea from Superman Movieverse fanfic that I can not recall the name of, in the fic it was Lois Lane's idea to make her well known relationship with Superman fade into the background.

That would be something to behold. But Laurel better think of using a different wig for several of her costumes. Or Lois will guess that there's just one new superheroine around who uses a number of different aliases for different locations. That this girl would have to be her very own daughter doesn't necessarily have to occur to her, though.

On another note, this kind of scenario works best if you have a number of other superheroes around. Like Batman (and the Bat-family) and the rest of the gang. Otherwise, if Laurel is only the 2nd superhero around, things might get too obvious too soon.

Anyway, I'd love to read a story like that. laugh

It might be kind of fun if Laurel's true personality was a shy, book nerd and these heroines were anything but (or dressed as anything but, as shown in your photo choices).

Disregarding what's happening in the New 52s, what if one of Laurel's heroine costumes was Wonder Woman with a mask? She could pretend a backstory of a Amazonian heritage and when she flew sit down as if in an invisible jet.

Are you throwing this out there as a story idea for someone else to write?

Why not tackle it yourself?

I am currently otherwise occupied and I don't think I could fit that into my Matchmaker universe.
