In this part, the entire story about Clark, Lana and Lex is revealed in layers, and what layers there are! Talk about worth the wait! dance

Lois and Clark have a very complex relationship and they have not known each other for several months. Poor Lois, even though this story could earn her a Pulitzer, she is honor bound not to say anything regarding Clark's 'talents'.

Quote
Clark nodded. “I think he did. At first, there were only minor clues. He kept inviting us to have dinner with him. He exerted himself to establish a close friendship; he got me an internship at the New York Times and pulled strings to get me a job there after graduation. He also got Lana a job with his corporation. This whole thing made me uncomfortable, but I figured he was just grateful for being alive.” Full of self-contempt, he added. “I was so naïve, then.”

“The New York Times,” Lois whispered impressed, but managed to control herself in time. “Don’t you think that he was really just grateful?”

LOL! rotflol Does Lois have dreams of working on another great metropolitan newspaper besides the Daily Planet?

Quote
Clark’s face was still a mask of poorly disguised anguish. He sat down again, downing his cup of hot chocolate in on large gulp. “That’s what she must have done. Luthor finally had the last piece of the puzzle and he came right to me to get his evidence. He would have succeeded, if it hadn’t been for the strange glowing rock that robbed me off my powers. When his attack on me did not supply him with leverage that he wanted against me, he must have decided to kill Lana. She could have reconsidered, could have proven what kind of a man Luthor really is.”

This does not explain why he killed Lana. That man is nothing if not calculating and clever, she would be the perfect hostage to hold over Clark's head.

Quote
“Clark!” she yelled angrily. “Get back here now! I’m warning you!”

Yup! These two are off to a roaring start!

A writer's job is to think of new plots and create characters who stay with you long after the final page has been read. If that mission is accomplished than we have done what we set out to do, which is to entertain and hopefully educate.

Glad that you liked it. Thank you for your feedback. I had almost forgotten that I had not yet revealed the whole story. I'm trying to be back with more soon.

Great part clap clap clap...

I love how everything is coming together. Pieces are starting to fit. What a complex and compelling story notworthy.

It's been really interesting watching Lois and Clark try to figure each other out in this section. How they know each other, but in some ways don't at all. How they are thrown in such a crazy situations and are both so dependent on each other, but don't know how much they can trust the other person. It's such a great dynamic!

And you posted more today--YES!!! dance

Awesome!
Laura

"Where's Clark?" "Right here."

...two simple sentences--with so much meaning.

That was just what I wanted to convey.

Thank you for reading and giving feedback.
