I've been adding some stuff about secondary characters on the Lois and Clark page at fanlore.org, and wondered if anyone can tell me how many episodes Jonathan and Martha actually appeared in?

Since they had a cast credit on every episode IMDB is no help, but it would be nice to give a rough approximation e.g. "about a third of episodes" or whatever.

The page is here if anyone wants to edit it or make suggestions. The fourth paragraph beginning "Unusually for shows based on the adult Superman..." is the one I've added.

I heard once that they weren't in S4's "I've got you under my Skin". But if you go to CloisWorld's guide to L&C Characters per episode you should be able to verify. It's a pretty complete list.

EDIT: Hmmmm. That list says they were in that episode. The guide says that they weren't in every episode. Technically, they weren't in Soul Mates, but their souls were.

I was hoping there might be something more like a breakdown by episode numbers - maybe I'd better look at the scripts.

I've checked the first two seasons for instances of "Martha" and it looks like she's in slightly more than half of them, which isn't exactly "almost all"

So far the ones she isn't in are

106-8, 111, 114, 118, 120, 122
202, 204, 206, 210, 213, 215-7, 219, 220

I'm working on the assumption that she'll be in any episode that Jonathan is in. I can't remember any episode where there's Jonathan but no Martha but I suppose it's possible.

Wow. I've always felt their presence in every episode. I never knew they were missing from so many.

OK, Season 3 has no Martha in
302, 304, 309, 310, 312-3, 314 (mentioned but doesn't appear), 319, 320

Season 4
405, 407-9, 412, 414, 416, 417 (mentioned in dream sequence), 418-20

Which makes 38 out of 88 episodes without Martha, so she's in about 56% of episodes. If I say "more than half" it's close enough.
