Pel, once again, it's awesome. Fantastic. Since I haven't read the story yet, I obviously can't say that it fits the mood, but I'm sure that it does. smile It looks perfect.

And to you, Wendy, consider yourself nagged. In the Bleak Mid-Winter is my very favourite Christmas carol, so I can't wait to see what you do with a story with that title. Is this going straight to the Archive or on the boards, because there aren't very many days until Christmas left...

EDIT: OK, I've just watched it again, and I saw that lcfanfic.com is listed, so I assume that means it'll be uploaded next weekend??

I am working on other trailers as well, but this one got pushed forward a bit since the author and I thought it would be pretty cool to make a COMING SOON-trailer... laugh And, of course, I'm glad I managed to make one for a Christmas-fic before it was too late.

And a huge thank-you goes to Kaylle, whom I spent *many* hours with on IRC the night I was trying to work this out, but *one* clip that lasted about two seconds drove me nuts, and she helped me edit it! So, thanks, Kaylle!! sloppy

And one more thing I figured out... There's a *HUGE* perk when it comes to making trailers: sometimes you even get to read stories *before* they are posted!! laugh And guys, this is a SPECTACULAR one!!

The story isn't very long, so I only meant for this to be a "teaser", but it just kept growing and growing into a very small trailer or a veeery long teaser. wink

Oooh. A coming-soon trailer. And awesome, as always, Pel! It was a tad jittery on this computer, but it may be because of everything I have running. I'll have to watch it again on my other computer. And this trailer makes me want to read the story.

Oooooh, Wendy! nagnagnagnagnagnagnag Where'd those shears go....

Beautiful, Pel! You set up a very bleak beginning, indeed, but then... all of a sudden there's hope and life and the music changes and we're off!

Intriguing, Wendy! <g> Post now!

And that clip where Wells says "are you ready?" cracks me up every time through.

Wonderful, Pel! This truly is a trailer, and a great teaser to boot as now I can't wait to read the actual story.

From what I know about Wendy's story, the music and clips you've selected are perfect. I can't wait to see what Wendy has planned for poor AltClark and his holiday <g>.

Keep them coming - I love to see every one and am diligently downloading them for safekeeping!

Great job,
Lynn

Hooray! A new trailer! Wonderful as always. And I love that song, absolutely love it, so it was great to see it used in this context. I can't wait to read the story now. I love Alt-Clark. smile

Pel, this is so much fun! I love it! clap It starts off all sad and angsty, and then the music gets happy and we know everything's going to be okay smile

And I'm so impressed how quickly and well you put these together! With results like this, I'm happy to help you anytime!

And Wendy, now that this is done you know you have no excuse to withhold the story... wildguy

Great job, Pel!!! (as if there was any doubt)

I have to say I always thought the part where altClark tells Clark that he's the luckiest person alive, and Clark replies, "I know," was mean. It's like rubbing it in. (just my reflections)

Wendy! wildguy Now you have to hurry because we won't lay off!

Although I can see where you're coming from, I'm going to have to disagree. I always thought it was the best thing he could say in this situation. After all, wouldn't it have been a worse slap in the face to Alt-Clark if Clark would have blown it off, taking everything for granted? "Eh, some days are better than others" or similar. By saying "I know" he's telling Alt-Clark that he appreciates what he has and is truly thankful for it. The sad note in his voice says he is imagining how painful it must be for Alt-Clark to watch from the outside, and that he wishes Alt-Clark could have what he has, too. But he tried to keep it short so as not to rub his face in it. He could have said. "Yeah, I know. I mean, I can't imagine how much my life would suck if I was you and you were me." <G>

Yay I guess Kaylle helped you figure how to cut that one scene up. Great job Pel. So how did you get the WMV file to work? what editing program did you end up using? Laura

LOL! I love it!! How totally, incredibly fun, Pel!

And just to rub everyone's nose in it, I have read the story and I think this trailer is just brilliant in capturing the mood! ROTFL, this is just too fun.

I can't even tell you how much I'm enjoying these things, Pel! You definitely are developing your own huge fan base!

Chiming in now to say a huge THANK YOU to Pel. You are such a star!!!! Thank you so very, very much for doing this! clap

As for the story... well, it's coming up on the archive this weekend, but I am also planning to post it on the boards this week. So keep an eye out in the fanfic folder!

Incidentally, I wasn't planning to write a Christmas story this year. And I said so too - I was at Yvonne's place a few weeks ago and we were discussing future writing ideas; I said that I had no intention of writing a Christmas story this year because I felt that I'd done 'Lois hates Christmas' to death, and since I prefer to write pre-relationship or on-the-cusp-of-relationship Christmas stories, that was really all I could do - after all, it wasn't as if I could write Clark-hates-Christmas for a change, was it? And then... the penny dropped, bit by bit, and the idea which became In The Bleak Mid-Winter just stuck in my brain and refused to go away. And, yes, guys, it's Alt-Clark.

Wendy (just hoping that everyone isn't going to be disappointed with the story now that they've seen Pel's absolutely stunning trailer! notworthy )

Pel, I have no words to describe how good your trailers are! Each one is a new surprise, and everything fits *so* well with the story... the music, the scenes you choose, the texts... I'm in complete awe, and I can't wait for the next one! Consider yourself nagged mercilessly! wildguy wildguy wildguy wildguy wildguy wildguy wildguy

Hey all!

First of all, I want to thank you all for even taking the time to watch the trailers. I imagine you all watched it out of curiosity, wondering what the heck I was up to now, and whose and what story I was trying to present.

So, what was I up to? I actually had to ask myself that a few times before I finally told Wendy I had an idea on how to make a trailer for the story. Did I really want to do it? Yes! Did I have the guts? Uncertain. <g>

After all, this was for a UPCOMING story, so I was in the danger of ruining the whole thing. By doing something wrong, people might not be left with the impression that this was in fact a *very good* story. That was my biggest concern. So I was actually kind of tempted to tell Wendy that story was absolutely terrific (!!), but I had no idea on how to make a trailer for it...<g>

Nevertheless, that thought didn't stick for very long. I gave it a shot, and now I'm glad I did. I really wanted to make a trailer for a Christmas fic before it was too late, and I'm just glad Wendy didn't fight me off with a stick when I said I had finished it. <g>

When I made this, I did it out of two reasons:

1) It's a heck of a lot of *fun* do make something like this!! smile1

And this trailer makes me want to read the story.

I'm *thrilled* when someone says that!! goofy

I had a complete story on my hard drive... so I couldn't resist the lure of the DCC. Pel said that she would see what she could do.
And so I did. Though I was actaully terrified when I read it, afraid I might ruin it..<G> Glad to hear you weren't disappointed!!

Quote
And, Pel, the first time I saw the completed version it brought a tear to my eye. You are that talented.
blush ...
Thank you for being such a talented writer, and when I read it, it brought a tear to *my* eye. Well, okay, more than one. <g> Hoping you'll let my try this again one day!

LOL! Well, I really want to avoid those shears <g>, so I'll see what I can do. Another trailer is coming up later on, I hope.

Thank you all for watching it! All credit goes to Wendy, though, and Kaylle. One for writing such a wonderful story *and* letting me read it before it was posted, and the other one for staying up very late to help me through the frustration when I had a little problem with this clip that lasted about two seconds <g> *and* helping me fix it. And between that, some hilarious discussions, saying everything about nothing, and how annoying it was that all of our friends fell in love with our brothers goofy

Sorry for being so late to reply, Pel smile

It was a good idea making a trailer for a story-to-be-posted. (Although it makes no difference for me... I still haven't read the other stories you made trailers for peep )

I loved this trailer too, and I'm looking forward to seeing more. (NAG, NAG, NAG!)

See ya,
AnnaBtG.
