If you don't already know about the site, the head writer and replacement for Joel, Mike Nelson has his own site where he periodically posts articles and insites about living in Minnesota and whatnot. His most recent post is wonderfully humorous and entertaining of the pants-wetting variety, especially if you watch football. Below is the link.

I'm not a huge MST3K fan, but it is one of the best sci-fi shows to come out of Minnesota, and the only sci-fi show I can think of whose title has become a slang verb.

Er, just out of curiosity, where in MN are you from? I'm in the Twin Cities.

I believe there's a hero in all of us that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble, and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams. -- Aunt May, Spider-Man 2

Burnsville, though I did get to meet Mike Nelson in Roseville once, he was signing books and gave my 11 year old a chance to say "Hellcats" in public. We, of course, purchased 2 books and had him sign both, and then I went and read them, so they aren't in mint condition any more.

His web page (Other Things) is hilarious and he seems to be updating more often, hopefully because he get Emails that say "Hey Mike, you ought to update more often". I am completely of the belief that he makes Garrison Keillor look like a senile old man.

We don't visit the Twin Cities very often as parking and driving through are a pain in the butt, however I was fortunate enough to be escorted to the Holidazzle Parade this year. Very Nice.

So, knowing there are at least 4 FoLC's here, we should do the convention in Minnesota next time. We'll rent the Excel Center and play hockey or something.

That's hilarious, TJ, thanks for sharing! smile I loved MST3K. I mean, as a sci-fi show it was pretty ridiculous, but the comedy was first rate. My husband and I still randomly quote lines from it to each other <g>

"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed.
He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement."
"You can say that again," she told him.
"I have a...."
"Oh, shut up."
