Hey all! I was just excited and had to share. I didn't want to tell everyone until it was official, but just today I signed my very first contract to have my very first novel published! Off to keep pinching myself...

Woohoo! Way to go, Erin!! You'll still talk to us when you're famous, right? Seriously, well done - it couldn't happen to a more talented and deserving author. LabRat

Hey, congratulations, Erin! Hope you get rivers of money! I was surfing the Internet and found this little interview you did a couple of years ago (August 2001), that can be found here . It seems like your plans are finally coming through : ... But I also write a lot in my spare time (yeah, right...what spare time? and plan to one day be a best-selling novelist, even if it takes many years! I've already written two complete novels, with a third and fourth nearing completion. I just have to find that one book that gets my foot in that publishing world door, and then I'll be set. In the meantime, I'll just let writing continue to be my passion. Good luck! malu

malu Geez, did I really say that? How embarrassing. I'd say that my goals have definitely changed over the years. Instead of "best-selling," I'm just thrilled to have something published, no matter how well it does. And I'm certainly not in it for the money, since there really isn't money to be made as a writer. I'm just happy to have something to do once in a while that doesn't involve changing diapers, bouncing a fussy baby, or playing referee. It'll be something to maintain my sanity. Thanks for sharing your find! As embarrassing as it was.

Hey, bravo!! We're all proud of you. Is it going to be out under your real name or a pen name? Well, I have another question: What *is* your last name? I hope I'll be able to find your book here, when it's published. Congratulations. See ya, AnnaBtG.

Is it going to be out under your real name or a pen name? Well, I have another question: What *is* your last name? [/QB] LOL! Sorry; I've been around folcdom for so long I just assumed everyone knew who I was. No, I won't be using a pen name; it'll be published under my real name, Erin Klingler. I was debating for a while about including my middle initial, but it's "L" (as those of you who know me on IRC know ), and I don't know that having everyone make the connection to what my initials spell would add credibility.

I've been away all weekend at camp - and look what I missed! Way to go Erin, we are all so very proud of you... Next question - what's the book called? I may have to special-order it over here in Korea Melisma (proud, here under her Rock, to be able to rub shoulders with such a famous - in and out of FoLCdom - author...)

Erin, Well its finally good to know that someone else who has some pull in publishing has seen what we all have known for a while. Congradulations and you are going to have to tell me if you are using an agent or if you did this on your own. Is this one of the three finished novels that you had already written in that interview or is this another one and are you going to send your other works to the same publisher and see if they would like to publish them too? And lastly.... when are you going to go to the mini folc fest/booksigning after it comes out?

Hey Erin! I am so happy for you! You have worked long and hard for this one. You sent one of your earlier works to me a few years ago about a girl and her horse competitions. Ah, a very nice story about first love. I am impressed with your persistence. Your writing is a pleasure to read. Let us know when your book is released. We are your greatest fans. Way to Go! I just searched Amazon.com for it and it is here: Erin\'s book . I thought of it the other day and went searching under Erin's name and got no hits, so I came back here to find the title and searched the title and there it was!!! Funny, I never noticed before that Erin's name is Kling ler. I'd left out the "l". So here's the link. Congrats again, Erin! Artemis

Has anyone else read the book yet? I finished it this afternoon by the pool. I knew it would be a Christian romance but was not expecting the heavy Mormon aspect. There were lots of references that I didn't understand, for example MTC and CTR. Something called a triple combination was mentioned and I really doubt that it's an Olympic dive. It will be interesting to see everyone's reactions, especially to the heroine Lauren.
