Hey all!

I was just excited and had to share. I didn't want to tell everyone until it was official, but just today I signed my very first contract to have my very first novel published! smile1

Off to keep pinching myself...

Woohoo! Way to go, Erin!! hyper jump

You'll still talk to us when you're famous, right? laugh

Seriously, well done - it couldn't happen to a more talented and deserving author.

Hey, congratulations, Erin!

Hope you get rivers of money! laugh laugh laugh

I was surfing the Internet and found this little interview you did a couple of years ago (August 2001), that can be found here .

It seems like your plans are finally coming through laugh :

... But I also write a lot in my spare time (yeah, right...what spare time? wink and plan to one day be a best-selling novelist, even if it takes many years! I've already written two complete novels, with a third and fourth nearing completion. I just have to find that one book that gets my foot in that publishing world door, and then I'll be set. In the meantime, I'll just let writing continue to be my passion.
Good luck!

Geez, did I really say that? How embarrassing. blush I'd say that my goals have definitely changed over the years. Instead of "best-selling," I'm just thrilled to have something published, no matter how well it does. And I'm certainly not in it for the money, since there really isn't money to be made as a writer. I'm just happy to have something to do once in a while that doesn't involve changing diapers, bouncing a fussy baby, or playing referee. laugh It'll be something to maintain my sanity. wink

Thanks for sharing your find! As embarrassing as it was. blush

LOL! Sorry; I've been around folcdom for so long I just assumed everyone knew who I was. blush

No, I won't be using a pen name; it'll be published under my real name, Erin Klingler. I was debating for a while about including my middle initial, but it's "L" (as those of you who know me on IRC know wink ), and I don't know that having everyone make the connection to what my initials spell would add credibility. laugh

Erin,

Well its finally good to know that someone else who has some pull in publishing has seen what we all have known for a while. Congradulations and you are going to have to tell me if you are using an agent or if you did this on your own.

Is this one of the three finished novels that you had already written in that interview or is this another one and are you going to send your other works to the same publisher and see if they would like to publish them too?

And lastly.... when are you going to go to the mini folc fest/booksigning after it comes out? jump

Hey Erin!

I am so happy for you! You have worked long and hard for this one. You sent one of your earlier works to me a few years ago about a girl and her horse competitions. Ah, a very nice story about first love.

I am impressed with your persistence. Your writing is a pleasure to read. Let us know when your book is released. We are your greatest fans.

I just searched Amazon.com for it and it is here: Erin\'s book . I thought of it the other day and went searching under Erin's name and got no hits, so I came back here to find the title and searched the title and there it was!!! Funny, I never noticed before that Erin's name is Klingler. I'd left out the "l".
So here's the link.
Congrats again, Erin!

Has anyone else read the book yet? I finished it this afternoon by the pool. I knew it would be a Christian romance but was not expecting the heavy Mormon aspect. There were lots of references that I didn't understand, for example MTC and CTR. Something called a triple combination was mentioned and I really doubt that it's an Olympic dive. wink

It will be interesting to see everyone's reactions, especially to the heroine Lauren.
