Gosh, I'm having a hard time coming up with a character was both a rich athlete and a published author--especially one where the actor is a household name. Lemme do research on one last idea and get back to you. Edit: I know he's not an athlete, but he fits all of the other criteria. I'm thinking maybe there's something in a commentary or comic book that I missed somewhere to fill in the gap. Is #7 Franklin Stern? He's rich, he's probably published, he's in the second half of season one, he was probably athletic in his youth and the actor is a household name. Elisabeth

He was in All Shook Up (last half of season 1), was military, wore sun glasses, Was business like when meeting superman first time, and was the same race as Franklin Stern.
