OK, don't know if this has been aswered before, but it occured to me while driving to work: I was stuck in traffic near a truck loaded with newly made steel pipes. Still, the bunches of pipes were already rusted. That got me puzzled.

Since I have a colleague that's specialised in anything "galvanisation" related, I asked her why was that? And she explained that steel was the most "partial to rust" alloy of all. Being exposed to air could do the trick.

And so, now I wonder: Why is it that Superman (aka Man of Steel) doesn't, well... rust? Even when immerged or showering or when soaked by the rain? confused

Does it all comes to his protecting aura?

The answer I can come up with is that Superman is not actually made of steel. His molecular structure is so tightly binded and strong (ie cannot be easily broken), hence we give him the epitome 'Man of Steel', coz he is so strong as if he's made of steel.

Maybe we should start calling him like Mary does in her "The Man Who..." goofy

If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.
