Hi Everyone:
I appreciate all those following my "Nighttime in the Daytime" story. I want to point out that the amateur astronomers who track Near Earth Objects are real people that really do work together. In my story I try to give a shout out to them. I thought there might be some interest in showing you those real people: The Planetary Society
regards

Many years back I was a card carrying, dues paying, member of the Planetary Society.

I believe I joined back when the Planetary Society was getting behind the SETI objective.

Once again, Artemis, you have taught me something new. And once again, the replies to this thread have shown me that LCFic fans are an extremely interesting set of people.

Also, Happy Jack, AZ is a real place (well, it was just a campground) with a real telescope! The Discovery Channel Telescope to be exact. It is being built by the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff.

Enjoy!
