Cool! I'm first!

As will be obvious from my (lack of) answers, I am doing this from memory. I didn't even look at the names of the eligible stories.

1) I remember the line...The "fly swatter" was a spatula. I liked the fic. Just wish I could remember which it was...
2) I read this one, too...
3) Could this one be "Flying Lessons" by Sue S.? If so, I got it from the excerpt.
4) Another one I read and enjoyed at the time. Memory like a sieve...
5) My preciousssss...My birthday present! Oops, wrong fandom. wink Seriously, though, this story is near and dear to my heart, since Corrina (AKA Female Hawk) wrote "The Gift of Words" as a birthday present for me. I recognized it from the quote.
6) LOL at "Confucius Clark". No points given for laughter, though...
7) *Sigh* This is depressing...
8) I don't recognize this at all. And if I had read it, I would definitely have remembered it. Therefore, it is from one of the few Kerth contenders that I have *not* read. I will venture a guess... Nan's "Games People Play"? (Was that the name of her story?)
9) I recognize the quote and the except. Can't place them, though.
10) Yay! I get to end on a high note! I did poorly on this quiz, but I would *really* have been in sad shape if I hadn't recognized my own story. This is from Clark's Card, by Lynn S. M. I got it from the quote.

The only positive side of having such an abysmal memory for stories is that I can re-read them after a few years and it is as if I am enjoying them for the first time...

Thanks for assembling the quiz, Amberlea! smile

Lynn

1. The quote made me laugh. I definitely read it, but no author or title jumped to mind.
2. Ack! I *know* I read this one. I even think the 'sanctuary' was a secluded mountain lake, or something. That's as far as the memory goes.
3. Both the quote and excerpt made me smile, but ???
4. Oh, is this Female Hawk's "Second Chance" or something like that?
5. Definitely Female Hawk. "Gift of Words" (yes, I had to peek at her TOC list)
6. Squee! Mine. "Wasted Revelations." Got it from the quote, even. laugh
7. Uhm, sounds familiar. Bob Bartholomew's "Flying Easy"?
8. huh
9. Definitely read it, but I got nothing on the author or title.
10. Aaaand another blank.

Fun! And at least I'll get the Recognized Own Story star.

Spoiler space for today’s active topics. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Integer pellentesque metus nec arcu imperdiet sit amet laoreet augue egestas. Etiam vestibulum semper blandit.

Quotes:

1. I remember that line. Vaguely. I think Lois is talking about a spatula.

2. No Cars Go by Alisha Knight?

3. Just re-read this. Not that it helps with 50+ stories in the <11kB category.

4. huh

5. That’s the one with the scrabble where Clark spells out ‘I Love You’. Now, for the title… /goes checking spreadsheet…/ The Gift of Words by Female Hawk?

6. Re-read this one too. /jumps up and down/ *Just* re-read it. BJ’s Wasted Revelation!

7. Sort of remember having read this. Not that *that’s* much help… huh

8. Another one from the super-short…

9. /scrunches forehead/ Definitely just read this.

10. Huh huh

Let’s see if the excerpts go any better…

1. Ooh, ooh! I beta’d this for Nancy. He tried so valiantly to arrange a perfect date in Season 2, I think. /goes hunting for title/ The Best-Laid Plans of Mice and Superman.

2. Okay, so not No Cars Go.

3. Yep, *just* read this. They’re in married, in bed, and talking about their past. Or, wait, Clark woke up and watched Lois until she woke up, too. But still no title huh

8. Or maybe a recent post? huh

9. Oooh, that’s Tank’s story where Lois jogs to Clark’s apartment, takes a shower, and comes back out, catching Clark in the act in his kitchen! A Revelation by Any Other Name.

10. Still huh

Oh well, at least I got a few. I hope blush
