Hi everyone! smile1

The Kerth ceremony will take place on IRC on Saturday, April 17, 6 p.m. New York EDT.

K-Com needs your help! smile Not only do we need party-animals to make this huge fun and laughs and happiness, but we also need behind-the-scenes helpers to make the ceremony something special.

We need presenters. All categories are open, and so you're free to choose whatever you feel like presenting. Presenting means doing a small speech explaining what the category entails (it can be fun or serious, whatever you prefer) then listing the nominees, and finally, announcing the winner and handing out the famous trophy. wave

Just let me know, either here or in an email to me, that you're willing to present and what category you'd like to be assigned to. I'll be updating this thread with the remaining categories as they get snatched. clap

And don’t forget to vote!

It's working again...

Artemis, you have to change the "hrnr" at the end to "hournr".

I'll volunteer for commercials. How many are we talking?

I attended my first Kerth Ceremony last year, and I'm so excited for this year! smile

I MAY be able to volunteer to present. I am still debating whether to go see The Pioneer Woman that day since she has a book-tour stop in Seattle. If I don't, I am so there.

Clark: "You don't even know the meaning of the word 'humility,' do you?"

Lois: "Never had a need to find out its meaning."

I don't actually know the answer to this one, amberlea. Tricia is out of town this week, so it may be Monday before you get your answer. But I'll direct her attention to it when she gets back.

Meantime, I'm sure she'd want me to thank you - and Jax - for volunteering. smile

LabRat smile

Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly.
Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

smile1 Thank you, Amber, for volunteering to write some commercials.

Unfortunately, we only have presenters for 2 categories. Nancy has volunteered to present Best New Author and Best Overall. whinging

I don't mind either way, if Nancy wants to present BNA that's fine, but if people would rather keep up the tradition of last year's winner presenting then I'll give it a go, assuming I can get IRC to work. Carol's said she'll help me through it.

If you want to do that Alisha, that's fine. I was unaware of that tradition. I guess I've never paid any attention. You can assign me another category, Tricia.

How long is the ceremony? One hour? Two? Longer?

Thanks.

Going here will give you all some idea of what the ceremony is like: http://www.geocities.com/~chiefpam/2002Kerth_log.htm
Sorry, I couldn't find anything more recent. The scroll goes amazingly fast. If memory serves, the last one I attended was slightly over 1 hour. That was most likely 2007.
Hope this helps.

I've got the chat transcript from last year's, which was 2 hours. They used to go about 3 hours, but that was when we had a few more categories. It can vary depending on how fast the presenters and winners go.

Hey Karen, can you post the link to last years ceremony, or is it only on your computer. I couldn't find anything more recent than 2004.

frown I wish I could be there this year but my son has a lacrosse game on Saturday at the same time. It's iffy, but I might be able to get home in time for the last half hour of the Kerths.

Lois: You know, I have a funny feeling that you didn't tell me your biggest secret.

Clark: Well, just to put your little mind at ease, Lois, you're right.

Right now it's only on my computer. I sent the transcripts to Annette (I've got the past 3 years) but she hasn't linked them. I'll throw them up on my website when I get home tonight.

And come on, everyone, volunteer! We still need presenters. I'd take a category, but I'm still wondering how I can juggle my normal IRC duties and my lil man. laugh

Never been a presenter before, but I'll give it a try. I attended the Kerth Awards the first time last year and had a great time.

BJ

ETA: I don't know what's left, so I'll do one or two presentations for any of the following categories: super short, short, WaFFy, best epi adaptation or revelation.

Many thanks, Karen. I was there in 2009! I'd forgotten. I hope these don't scare people off. It is hard tracking FOLCs by their IRC names and especially when they change them!

Artemis/LCArtemis on IRC (since they already have an Artemis, they won't let me use it)
