OH MY! *falls over* I never expected to get a nomination. Thank you!! Congrats to all the nominees, and good luck! Time for me to get to reading.

I'll echo the sentiment...Congratulations to all who have been nominated. I've started reading some of the stories, and I can say that the competition is stiff. There are a lot of really terrific authors in this fandom!
One thing I am curious about...I am finding it difficult to try to determine which story to vote for in some categories, because I feel like I am comparing apples and oranges. As an example, in the "Best Super Short" category, there are examples of excellent comedy and very powerful drama. So how do you all go about making such a decision? I am purposely avoiding any discussion about the relative merits of specific stories here; my question is more high-level than that -- I am more concerned right now about the decision-making process than I am about which individual story may be better.
But I will say that I think the "Best Super Shorts" (sic) winner really ought to be Superman, in his red short-shorts. ;-)
cheers, Lynn

Ah Lynn... Labby has that all solved. She hands out pins. You take the pin, close your eyes and stick it to the list. Whichever one it lands on... There you go. I'm told it's better to print the list out before trying this though as she spent quite a bit of money on new monitors. Carol [who also thanks everyone for the noms =D]

First off, thanks to K-Com for getting this up so much ahead of schedule!
Second, thank you to everyone who voted to get Don't Fall on the list. Looking at the other stories nominated, I am amazed anything I wrote compares.
And lastly, thank you to all other authors out there. While I am awful at leaving feedback, you provide me with quick, fun, free relaxing time many nights and weekends - including many people who are not on this list!

I knew I was behind on my reading, but... my goodness. Guess I'm going to have to get reading, eh. Got to do that before borrowing one of Labby's pins. And to that end... Do we have the stories listed with their links anywhere? As for my story... wow. I don't think it's nearly as good as some of the other stories on the list. It's an honor just to have it nominated. My thanks to the authors first of all, for providing such great fics and hours of entertainment.
And then, sincere gratitude to the Kerth Committee, who do the hard work to make the awards happen. You rock!

Congratulations to all the nominees.
And I have to send my thanks to those who thought that some of my stories were good enough to make the list.
And finally, thanks to K-com for putting all the "Door Slams" parts together where they belong.

Congrats to all the nominees! I've got a ton of catching up to do this year.
I was also wondering if there were links to the stories. I tried doing a search on a few and some of them didn't come up.

Until they get the Kerth website updated... The vast majority are on the archive already but any you don't find there you should find here. You can do a 'search' in Fanfic TOCs to find the TOC for a particular fic . Hope that helps someone =D. Carol [who thinks KCom rocks ]

Hi, Congrats to everyone who was nominated. Like everyone else, I need to get rereading so I can make an informed choice! Actually, I'm trying to sneak in and pinch some of Lab's pins, without anyone noticing. And I want to thank everyone who nominated me. I'd taken so long to write this story, and I've become a bit of a lurker lately, so I really was surprised to be remembered. Surprised but totally over the moon! Yours Jenni

One other question -- Should the "Best WAFFy" be the the best story (in terms of plot, character development, writing style, etc.) with a WAFF feel, or the story with the greatest "WAFF factor"?
I've read many of the shorter stories that have been nominated in the various categories; and so far, I have yet to find one that I think would be unworthy of winning the award. I'd like to take this opportunity to reiterate my congratulations to all nominees and also to agree with other posters in thanking the K-committee for all their work in organizing the awards.
cheers, Lynn

I was afraid to thank whoever nominated my story because I figured I would wake up immediately afterward and find out I'd been dreaming. Or maybe H.G. Wells would appear and undo it all. I still have a hard time believing it.
But here goes:[deep breath] thanks to everyone who submitted nominations, thanks to the committee, and congratulations to the nominees.

Wow. Thank you to everyone for the nominations and the work of organizing. I think it says something about this show and this fandom that we still have so many great stories and new authors thirteen years after the show left production. Happy dance

Sorry to be late to the party. My brother had a heart attack on Tuesday and my time has been sort of taken up since then, so I just noticed my story was nominated.
A big thank you to everyone who nominated my work. I genuinely didn't expect it, since I haven't been very active this last year. Real life has been a bear, recently. And a salute to the Kerth Committee for the incredible job they do every year.

Hi Nan, Just coming in here to say I understand what you mean about RL, and also to say I hope your brother recovers well. And, of course, to make amends for not thanking the committee in my last post. You do a great job every year, and it's amazing that the Kerth Awards have been going for over 10 years. I'm amazed ... and doesn't time fly! Yours Jenni

Just a minor question: In the announcement, "Next Gen" was missing from the category, Alt Universe, Elseworldds. Will be the words 'Next Gen' be there on the final ballot?

I can see I have a lot of reading to do! Honestly, I didn't even think I'd recognize that many of the titles on this list, that's how far out of it I've gotten lately. But apparently I've read more than I thought, 'cause I'm seeing some favorites on this list. Way to go, authors! This fandom has such awesome talent. And then I about fell over, realizing that my name was on there... thank you, everyone who nommed my story! Really, it's all Jenn's fault; she requested the story, I just wrote it to suit her specifications. But I've got to admit, it's nice to know that I haven't entirely lost my touch... So, I've got my pin, and I'm printing the list... PJ

Been out of town to our older son's wedding two states away and I just saw my name on the list. Thanks to all who thought so highly of my musical offering to nominate it. May the best stories win!
And, judging by the high quality of the other nominees, I will once again have to be satisfied with a "Nominated" icon beside my story. But that's okay, because I'm in excellent company.
I'm honored to be nominated. Thank you all so very much.

Hey, 'Nominated' works for me. Honestly, if I'm trolling around the archive looking for a good story, I'm just as likely to read one with the 'Nominated' icon as one with the 'Winner' icon. And then, if I like it, I'm likely to read other things by the same author, whether they were nominated or not. So I figure, come what may, all our stories will gain some new readers. And that's why we write them, after all--for the readers. Seriously, I spent a couple of years reading a *lot* of L&C fanfic before I ever attempted to write any, and it was the warm welcome and encouragement and feedback from these boards that gave me the gumption to actually finish a story, so we'll just spread the credit liberally around the entire fandom. You guys rock.
This *is* my happily ever after.

I took the list and have been reading for the past few weeks. My only comment is, I don't know how in the world we will decide who to give the Kerth to from this list. There is not a clunker in the bunch. Congratulations everyone listed!!! These are some wonderful stories!!! The collective talent represented by this list is beyond mere recognition. You all are winners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to say... I'm speechless. Thank you so much everyone for nominating "The Three Rules" and myself as Best New Author! I am bowled over!
Congrats to ALL the winners and their excellent stories!
