The nKerths are held entirely separately by a different committee. It's more infrequent than the Kerths and bounces around the calendar a bit, so there's no set time for it.

If you go into the story summary thread in nfic and pick up Dawn's eddress or PM you can ask her when it's likely to be this year.

Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly.
Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

Hi K-comm. You've got the wrong link for "The Early Snoop Gets the Scoop" It should be this:
http://www.lcfanfic.com/stories/2008/esnoop.txt
You've got the link to "I'm getting married in the morning."

The 21st? What's that for? Is that for the Kerths? I thought they were on April 4th.

Voting opens March 21st. The ceremony (after the voting) is April 4.
From the Kerth site:
Quote
Saturday, February 14th--Nominations open

Sunday, March 1st--Nominations close (at midnight EST) (allows 2 weeks for nominations to be submitted)

March 2nd through March 8th--Kerth committee sorts out nominations

Monday, March 9th--Final list of nominees to be posted

Saturday, March 21st--Voting opens

Monday, March 29th--Voting closes (at midnight EST)*

Ceremony on Saturday, April 4th, at a time to be determined.

Hi K-comm.
I'd like to bring your attention to the fact that March 29th is a Sunday, not a Monday. The Kerth site under Schedule is wrong.
Also Daylight Savings Time starts in the USA on March 8, so that midnight March 29 is EDT, not EST.
I understand there was much confusion last year on the deadline and some folcs missed it. It probably needs clarification this year. I posted a new thread with Time Zones in it.

As I mentioned on another thread... Please don't make it midnight! Change it to a time that everyone understands - like 11:59 pm.

On the Kerth Eligible story list, Lessons has no link. I don't know if it will be on the Archive soon enough for it to matter, so the link to the TOC is Lessons

I hope someone can post it on the story list, for the convenience of those nominating.

Why is there no novel length category for the Kerths this year? We stop at Mid-length story on the ballot. This doesn't seem right. I say if you're going to have three categories devoted to length, you might as well make it four. That way, there is space in the Drama, Alt, Relationship and Overall Story for refined competition.

"Lessons" is on the eligible story list here:
http://www.kerthawards.com/2009storylist.html
Tricia cleared up any confusion on the nomination time here: http://www.lcficmbs.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=002503
and here: http://www.lcficmbs.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=002501

Hope this helps.

sueemma, there's only 5 stories over 500kb. That would pretty much mean all 5 stories would be nominated. I can't remember how many 500kb+ length stories we've had in the past, but I'm sure it's been more.

Yes, I know Lessons is on the list, but there is no active link to the story! That was what I was trying to say. The other stories on the list have links, but mine has none. The link simply puts you back to the top of the Eligible Stories list page. If that could be corrected, I'd appreciate it.

Sueemma, Karen is right. There are not enough stories eligible for this category.

The total number of stories is lower than previous years. If anything, K-Com may have to consider deleting a category, not adding one.

grrrrr... fine, be right. I'm making my way through the list to nominate and the new novels are just so good... but only 5 eh? That mean I've only got 2 more to go. So sad... not that I can complain because I've only been devouring stories and not contributing. smile
