I came across these two articles in my flist which I thought would be of interest to us fanfiction writers. It's about how our work is constantly devalued next to original fiction, and whether writing to get published is the same thing as 'serious' writing.

The FoLC MBs houses some of the best fanfiction I have read, and I know many authors put a lot of commitment and love into their work, regardless of renumeration. So what are YOUR thoughts on it?

“Is he dead, Lois?”

“No! But I was really mad and I wanted to kick him between the legs and pull his nose off and put out his eyes with a freshly sharpened pencil and disembowel him with a dull letter opener and strangle him with his own intestines but I stopped myself just in time!”

I'm going to move this into Fanfic Related, Lady_Mirth. I think more FoLCs will see it in there.

Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly.
Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.
