It's about how our work is constantly devalued next to original fiction, and whether writing to get published is the same thing as 'serious' writing. http://community.livejournal.com/fanthropology/378389.html http://narahttbbs.livejournal.com/150889.html The FoLC MBs houses some of the best fanfiction I have read, and I know many authors put a lot of commitment and love into their work, regardless of renumeration.
