Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly.
Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.

My suggestion for week two:

Like a Red Rock to Superman by Sara, Wendy and Pam. A lovely fic that is just the right size to read over lunch break.

Another story by Stopquitdont: When Galaxies Divide

This story had me captivated--I spent an entire day reading it in one go. I'm crazy, I know, but it was that good. There's also an nfic version. smile

Thanks everyone who is participating. ^_^ I have gotten a few emails from authors who are excited.

I am starting a FDK thread from the previous weeks suggestions, so please please come and participate. I know that the authors for a lot of these stories are still around and would love to hear what you think.

Week Three Suggestions

My suggestion for this week:
An Affair To Remember by David

I had forgotten how much I loved this story until I saw David post again this week. This story was so well done and conveyed such emotion. It is the perfect rewrite of All Shook Up.

Here's a lovely story that's been on my mind lately:
Good Samaritan by Aria.

It's beautifully written, touching, and insightful - one of those stories that stays with me long after I've read it.

Here's an elseworld story I recently re-read:

The Circle Squared by Terry Leatherwood.

If she had to move heaven and Earth, perhaps come back to haunt Perry and explain the story after they'd killed her, she would do it.

Week 4

Ohhh!! Almost forgot to start the new week. Post suggestions for this week starting now.

Don't forget the suggestion above this one. It is also for week 4. ^_^

Duet by Shayne. This is an Elseworld story that is so believable and very emotionally charged. It's the kind of story you stay up late at night to finish.

P.S. Was there an FDK thread for Week 3's stories?

Not yet, I always make the suggestion thread after the week has finished. I guess I could make it sooner but I usually wait. I'll make it either tonight or tomorrow. smile Unless you wanna do it. laugh

The time frame of the suggestions and FDK is getting confusing--I'm working my way through the list above, and can't figure out what week anything is in and where the FDK should be posted past week two. I do want to thank whoever suggested The Circle Squared and of course heap admiration on Terry Leatherwood, the author--I just read it for the first time based on the recommendation and I loved it! But it's 2am and I have to get up at 5, so that's all I'm going to say right now. You guys are causing a serious sleep shortage around here.

I'll link the FDK threads tomorrow in the first post to keep this from being confusing.

Ahh! Lisa you made me think of Shayne's other story I loved so much:
Hearts and Diamonds by Shayne Terry

So am I correct in guessing that only a few of us are actually interested in this anymore? If so, I figure there is no use in the FDK threads...

Montrose's Toast by Phil Atcliffe

It's the only revelation story I know of where Clark goes on the offensive with Lois in a really satisfying way.

of course, it's a sequel to Sold! by Erin Dawn McInnis (a 4KB story) found at

Here's a fiesty story I came across...
The True and Amazing Adventures of Wanda Detroit by Nekanuq, who hacked into the Daily Planet archives to bring to us Lois Lane's novel wink .

There's even a nfic version at Annesplace.

At the risk of sounding immodest, here's one of mine that I wrote a couple of years ago. Some here on this board might recognize it, and might think it worth a smile or two ...

Cookiesmom, thanks for the kind words for "The Circle Squared." Sorry to cause a sleep shortage, since I often suffer the same affliction (and for the same reason), but I'm always glad to hear from a satisfied reader.

I'd like to recommend A Shot In the Dark by Sheila Harper. It starts with a hard WHAM but resolves with lots of WAFF and toys put back in their proper places. It's intense and suspenseful.

I didn't see a week 5 (or 6), but I re-read this gem today and wanted to recommend it. Any Time at All by Janet Owens (aka TicAndToc).

Thanks to Jojo for starting this thread and all the recommendations from you FOLCs - it's been great reading these marvelous stories again, as well as picking up a few new ones.

BJ
